Hi dBoat, We appreciate your question about the electrical requirements of the microwave. An outlet needs to be installed. The outlet box and supply circuit should be installed by a qualified electrician and conform to the National Electrical Code or the prevailing local code. The power supply cord and plug should be brought to a separate branch circuit single grounded outlet of at least 15 A and a max of 20 A. 20 A is recommended for multifamily buildings. The outlet box should be located in the cabinet above the microwave oven. Leo
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should have an outlet in the half- cupboards above your stove hood. If not, I would seek an electrician.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just had one installed in similar situation. I had to have an outlet installed. Beware. Best Buy first told me their installers would be able to do this, but when they arrived, they said they couldn’t do it and that it had to be done by a licensed electrician. As you face the door of the microwave, the cord comes out of the top right back corner, so try to put outlet on right side inside cabinets. But if this is not feasible, that’s ok. The cord is long enough to reach outlet if placed on left side of cabinet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it cannot be hard wired. A outlet needs to be installed.
