I've installed the MW flush with my upper cabinet and have redirected the fans according to the installation instructions but there is no air being pulled up through the microwave at all. If repositioning the MW will solve the problem i can have some sort of spacer bar installed behind - but i'm not sure that this will do the trick.”

The SMH9187 and other Samsung over the range microwaves are designed to be installed under standard 12" depth cabinets so the hidden vents on the top front of the microwave are not obstructed. If the exhausted air has nowhere to go, this could impact the effectiveness of the fan. Other contributing factors could be the distance between the cooktop and the bottom of the microwave, and the placement of the cookware on the stove top. For best performance, pans should placed directly under the fan. - Ms. Samsung
