Some cable boxes will have an audio out port, but not all of them. What I did with mine was connect the TV to the optical audio port of the sound bar. Now if you connect the HDMI port to TV you should get video/audio in and the optical on TV should provide audio out. I don't even use the TV speakers so I just put the volume down to 0. You can use the sound bar remote for audio or get a universal that allows you to preset the audio, which would give you the ability to change channels on cable box but adjust audio from sound bar. Of course it's always better to try and get the audio or video from the source device (cable box) due to possible lag or interference. I would try this setup and if you cannot get audio our of the optical cable check the TV settings as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
