I used to be a middle of the road home theater person. I was all about the internet direct systems that were superior to their mainstream counterparts - think SVS (I still consider them ID), HSU, Rythmik, Powersound Audio compared to Klipsch, Polk, Etc., but then had a few children and couldn't really appreciate my setups anymore. Had to take a step down to nothing for a while, but could not take it. I needed more than a TV speaker to satisfy my needs, but needed something that was not overpowered as to not get back into the situation I was in. I decided to give this a try and am surprised at the output. Its not anywhere close to where I was, but I went in with very low expectations and am very pleased with what I got. I have it setup in a living room that's around 13' x 13' and has wood floors. I plopped the sub in a corner to help with output and though it leaves me with wanting more, there is a decent amount of output there that I was not expecting. My buddy has a Sony soundbar and I always thought the bass output could be summed up as "there are times when I think I feel something." With this system, it is there, but not so much so that I can't use it when the kids are sleeping. The sound from the bar itself is nice. The speakers seem clear and are plenty loud enough. The features are nice with the Bluetooth and volume control using my Comcast remote. Overall, I am happy with the purchase. For $150, it is a very nice upgrade to a TV and adds depth that you can't get with TV speakers alone. I think in the long run this will become a nice bedroom system, but I would still recommend this to anyone looking for an upgrade that will not break the bank.

Needed a soundbar for my "old" 2016 Samsung 65" 4k TV that I moved to my bedroom. Room is roughly 14'x14'. TV speakers are horrid but did not want to spend a lot on a soundbar. This Samsung soundbar exceeds my expectations for celerity, thump (sub/bass) and volume it can kick out. Definitely fills the room and I can see it filling a much larger room. Sub placement is key for good bass, mine is about 2' from the corner of the room. I got it on sale for $130 and man, what a deal. Set-up was very easy. Love the little hidden screen in the middle so you know what is connected and volume level. Only complaint, my Samsung TV's "universal remote set-up" (via the TV) will not allow me to control the volume on the soundbar via the TV's remote when using the fiber optic output. It will work when I send the audio to the soundbar from the TV via Bluetooth, but I know optical is a better quality way to go. When connected via optical, the soundbar has the option to auto turn on - great feature but no TV remote control. Bluetooth doesn't allow auto turn on. So I have to pick one over the other. All in all, not a deal breaker for a soundbar under $130.

      Subwoofer Fatal Error -- Again

The soundbard itself works fine. The Subwoofer; however, is garbage. It worked for apprx 30 minutes to an hour, then stopped. The red and blue lights were flashing on top--looked it up, says it's a fatal error. Called Samsung, the made us go through all of the steps we already went through from the manual, just to tell us it was a fatal error. We had to send it it. We were told to send the whole unit, as it would be replaced, but instead, the sent us back the exact same unit, allegedly repaired. It worked for about 15 minutes, and then cut out. Now, it works for about 5 seconds if you unplug and plug back in, then cuts out and the red and blue lights come back on. Now I have to deal with this again. I had to drive two towns over, a 44 mi round trip, to send it out last time, because Samsung was too cheap to schedule a UPS pick up at my door. I've been an avid Samsung consumer over the years, phones, appliances, TV...but this is too much. They should have replaced it the first time, without inconveniencing me.

I received my soundbar on time but was concerned by the condition of the box. I bought this as EXCELLENT CONDITION . On opening the box I found that everything was just jammed into to box sealed and sent. The book had numbers written all over it. No S video cord was anywhere , no batteries for remote ? "excellent condition" far from it. I decided to hook it up and see if it worked. I read all the reviews and for the money I knew what to expect. I'm sorry to say it does not match up to most of the reviews. I sent it back thinking it was just the soundbar I received and agreed to have it replaced. The second soundbar was received in great condition and with all parts packaged . I hooked it up . It connected immediately with my TV. Here is where I am disappointed. My 10 year old ENERGY had more quality and dept. I gave it a week to see if I could do some adjustments to give it what I expected. I had to leave town for 2 months and did not have time to send it back. I wish I would of spent more money and bought a better soundbar. It baffles me where the ratings that I read came from.

We just purchased a 2017 year Samsung HDTV and looking to for a sound bar to go with it. We chose this particular model because of the price, ability to easily pair with the TV, wireless subwoofer, a 2017 series Samsung soundbar, and being able to expand to wireless sound down the road. Setup was extremely easy: just plug the optical cable (included) to the TV and the power cable. In addition, plug in the power cable to the subwoofer. When turning on the TV, the 2017 series Samsung TV paired up with the sound bar automatically. The tv remote control can control the volume up/down with it. Additionally, the sound bar turns off after a period of time when the TV is off. Soundwise, it is very good. Great bass, and average mids/highs. Vocals are very clear and audible from the bar. Bluetooth wireless capability works perfect to play music from the phone to the soundbar. In addition, the unit looks great, built very well, and remote even matches the TV. (even though I don't use the remote much at all since the TV remote functions/controls the soundbar)

Great Speaker but I was let down

      Posted

This speaker is perfect for the price. Sound quality is solid and the subwoofer adds to the experience. When I first tested the sound bar at home, I was impressed. I also purchased a Samsung television and picked up a a full motion wall mount along with a universal sound bar mount so that I could attach the sound bar to the mount so that it sits and moves with my television. Where my television sits in my room it does not point towards me from a flat wall, so I needed the sound bar mount attached to the television mount so that I could turn the television and sound bar towards me at any point in the room. Long story short the sound bar is not compatible with hanging television mounts because its screws are located underneath the sound bar instead of its side. So unless you are willing to do some DIY to finesse this fault, if your attempting to do the same thing you are better off getting a different sounder that does not have this problem.

For the price, this is a great product. We were looking at a smaller unit made by Sony that costed more but the Samsung fits just fine on our TV stand and takes up less space than our previous soundbar. It was very easy to install. Hooked it up quickly without any extra cabling or tools. Subwoofer is noticeable - we even needed to turn it down a little for some shows that are mostly talking (like The Office). It was very simple to connect my phone via Bluetooth. The subwoofer sounded great with songs like Thriller from my Spotify account. It is very cool that I can pause the music from my phone using the soundbar's remote. The display on the front of the unit is easy to read from a distance and makes using the different features MUCH easier to use.

I bought this through BB Online as an open box item and was rated Excellent. However, the product was repackaged poorly, missing the optical cable that was supposed to be included, was damaged on the cloth that covered the subwoofer, and lastly, the subwoofer synced but did not output sound. I question Best Buy's ability to actually bench test open box items. I returned it and ended up with an LG SH3K 300W which ended up being about the same price, but missing some of the features of this product (Wireless interface with Select model Samsung TV's, Custom sound quality settings, more functions on the remote, and HDMI passthrough.) On the other hand, the LG SH3K was a simple setup and I have more confidence in the longevity of the LG. The sound was great and the bass was noticeably room filling yet not overkill. It would have been nice if the Samsung worked and probably a good 4.5 stars.
