• It will turn on and off with the tv. You may need to use the remote to control some set up options.

• I have an insignia 42 inch plasma tv I used the optical cable and when I turn the soundbar off when I turn my tv on my soundbar comes on automatically.

• Yes, in the optical mode, if the remote control is feature optioned to do so, i.e. Directv, Dishtv, Cable. Tv turns on at the same time tv service device is turned on. Then the sound bar senses the active input and turns on as well. You still need to select the desired input to listen, optical is automatically selected on mine Should work that way

• If you connect this soundbar through HDMI cable on HDMI ARC port of Samsung TV, then it will automatically turn on when you turn-on TV and also you can control volume using TV remote only.
