You have 3 options, HDMI, Optical and Aux hook ups. Depends on the connections on your cable box and blue ray.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes when you hook up the soundbar using the Digital Optical cable or HDMI ARC port any sound your TV would play will come through the Soundbar. Also check out your cable box and Blue-Ray players individual settings have surround sound on. If you go with the HDMI setup make sure your TV digital output is set to PCM, if you go with the Digital Optical Cable it will need to be set to BITSTREAM.
