• You have 3 options, HDMI, Optical and Aux hook ups. Depends on the connections on your cable box and blue ray.

• Yes. Connect all your components to your TV via HDMI. Then connect your TV to sound bar via optical audio cable. All your TV audio output will go through the sound bar. Sounds awesome.

• The only downside is that both components require there own optical cable. So with that said to get multiple items with sound is through a receiver.

• Yes, as long as you connect the soundbar to the tv via the optical cable. If you connect with ARC you are using up one of the two hdmi ports.

• Yes when you hook up the soundbar using the Digital Optical cable or HDMI ARC port any sound your TV would play will come through the Soundbar. Also check out your cable box and Blue-Ray players individual settings have surround sound on. If you go with the HDMI setup make sure your TV digital output is set to PCM, if you go with the Digital Optical Cable it will need to be set to BITSTREAM.
