The blinking rectangle is showing the reheat is in progress. 
After a short period of time the numbers will appear and will count down to show the amount of time left till done.

Hi Susan,

You do not need to set a cook time when you use the reheat function.

Please see the "Reheat" section on page 20 of the user's manual to know how to use this function.
