I bought this fridge sight unseen and was curious about how I would like the recessed handles as well. I've had this fridge for almost a month, and I can say that I love them (and the fridge) now (or maybe my old fridge was just so bad I don't know any better :)). Having two young children that love to smear their hands all over the front of it, the recessed handles make it so much easier to clean. It looks really sharp as well. The extra couple of inches gained by not having the handles in the front make a big space difference in my kitchen at least. Hope this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Our Best Buy had a floor model so we could see it first hand. We love having no handles, easier to wipe and no handles to get in the way. A few days with it and the habit of reaching for a handle went away. Also, when the right door was open, and I wanted to open the left side too, I occasionally grabbed for the inside of the door to pull left side open. The installer said that habit would go away (which it did) but you definitely don't want to open the left side that way - something to do with the hinge/flap/seal thingy along left door may get damaged over time so I simply open from the bottom. Not a big deal. Love the fridge, took longer to get ice tray filled up than I anticipated, but a friend has Samsung and he said it is slow with ice the first few days. Not a problem since. Probably Too Much Information, but I would really recommend this fridge.

Our's is a counter depth unit and due to our homes kitchen layout we gain that precious inch and a half that our previous refrigerators handles protruded out into the kitchen as the unit is very near our garage door. My wife is 5'3" and I am 6'5", she uses the bottom hand recesses for the main refrigerator and I grab the doors from the top ones. No problems there at all. This fridge is way more power efficient than the model it replaces too.
