That's the way it was designed to work, apparently. This machine is absolute junk and Samsung needs to refund everyone's money because of bad design. Mine just turned a year old (of very light use) and the motor is now shot. I have to buy a new dishwasher. Grr. If you can get a refund/replacement then do it because I don't think Samsung designed these dishwasher for years of use.

There are a number of factors that can prevent the dishwasher from working properly, including water pressure and temperature among other things. Please start by checking the following: - Is the water pressure between 20 and 120 psi? - Is the hot water heater set to 120°F? - Did the detergent dispenser open to release the detergent you put in it? - Do the nozzle arms spin freely? It may be necessary to check the nozzle to make sure it isn't clogged. Instructions to do this can be found in the troubleshooting guide on Samsung's website, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further. Thank you, Ms. Samsung
