QuestionWhat do the three lights on the door mean?I cannot find a downloadable manual on this model even on samsung.com and would really appreciate if you could clarify it. Thanks.

- Answer The 3 lights on the front of the DMT400 dishwasher are Progress Lights, indicating which portion of the cycle the dishwasher is in: Wash, Dry or Clean, indicating the cycle is over. See the attached image for further explanation. Thanks for the question! Ms. Samsung

Questionhow to install?since the buttons are on the top of the door, do you install the dishwasher all the way under the countertop or sticking out where the buttons on the door are visible? the booklet does not specify.

- Answer Thank you for the question. The DMT400RHS should be installed so it can be attached either to your countertop using the top-mounting bracket or to your cabinets using the side mounting screws. Most people like it to be recessed completely under the countertop so the controls are hidden. In this case, you can press the buttons to program the cycle with the door slightly ajar, and the cycle should begin when the door is closed. - Ms. Samsung

- Answer This unit has a small hole inside the unit on each side (covered with small plugs) so if you can't use the top brackets you can screw it in at the sides and then put the plugs back in. This is what we did and it was actually easier than using the brackets.

Questionwhere is the kickplate?The photo of the dishwasher shows it without a kick plate. Why is that? If it doesn't have one, where am I supposed to get it?

QuestionButtons hidden--what if I need to stop mid-cycle?I see that there is a way to interrupt the cycle and drain the machine, but because the buttons are all on top of the door, how are you supposed to access them? Is it really okay to open the door mid-cycle? I'm hoping I never need to do this, but would like to know ahead of time. If I have the installer come back and lower the whole unit, I might be able to squeeze a finger between the counter and the buttons. Is this the way it should be installed?

- Answer Thanks for the question. The DMT400 is designed for customers who prefer the built-in look of hidden controls. You can pause the dishwasher during a cycle by opening the door slowly and carefully, since there may be steam that escapes. If the door is opened while the dishwasher is running, a safety mechanism is activated and stops the cycle, which will resume where it left off if the door is closed again after a short time. If you prefer a dishwasher with controls on the front where they're more visible, you may want to consider Samsung's DMT300 model. - Ms. Samsung

QuestionDoes this model have sensor buttons that do not click?For example, another model that I've seen on disply (DMR78) has them sensor, non-clicking and not hidden under a thin film of plastic, exactly what I want. Does this one have the same buttons as DMR78? Thanks

- Answer Though the control panel design on the DMT400 is somewhat different than the DMR78, the use of digital sensor touch controls, rather than buttons, is similar. - Answer The new DMT400RHS does not have a Half-Load option, though it does have Smart Auto to help save time, water and energy. If the Half-Load cycle is important to you, you may want to consider the DMT800RHS which has both Half-Load and the new Storm Wash feature for more effective cleaning of heavily soiled pots and pans. I would suggest contacting your local Best Buy Appliance Associate, or call 888-BEST BUY for information about this and other parts needed for installation. - Answer As explained in the DMT400 user manual, cycle times can vary depending on which cycle and options are selected, as well as on the supplied water pressure and temperature. The longest estimated cycle time is 152 minutes for the Heavy cycle setting (see page 22 of the manual). If Sanitize is selected, it may take longer depending on your supplied water temperature, as well as pressure, since the dishwasher would need to heat the water to a minimum 140˚F for the main wash and 162˚F for the final sanitizing rinse. For best performance, the temperature of the supplied water should be 120˚F and the water pressure should be between 20 and 120 psi. If your cycle times are significantly longer than those indicated in the cycle chart, it's possible that your dishwasher is being supplied with cold water or your home's water heater is set lower than is recommended. - Answer I'm sorry to hear your glasses are not coming completely clean. There are a few things you can do to try to improve your results, though it's possible that the "film" is the result of changes to regulations on phosphates in dish detergents. To ensure the best performance of your DMT400, make sure the supplied water pressure is 20 to 120 psi, the temperature is set to 120°F on your home's water heater, and be sure to select an appropriate wash cycle. When loading the dishwasher, make sure the spray arms are not blocked from turning freely, and there is nothing obstructing the flow of water to the inside of the glasses. It may also be helpful to check the spray nozzles for debris that could obstruct the water flow. If these suggestions do not resolve the issue, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further. Thank you, Ms. Samsung

- Answer I should let my wife who is a Saginaw girl also answer this, but she's not here. I think it has a dry cycle, but we have never used it on this dishwasher or others we have owned. We wash the dishes after dinner and they are dry the next morning without the dry cycle.

QuestionWill a raised wood floor in front of dishwasher cause an installation problem?The height of opening in front of the dishwasher is 34" from wood floor to under granite countertop. It then drops down to a plywood floor base under the counter. Is the Samsung tall tub feature a problem with a tight installation? Is the Samsung taller and with less adjustments to the height than other dishwashers on the market?

I can't speak to other manufacturers' products, but I can tell you that the minimum height of Samsung's DMT400 is 33-7/8", which leaves only 1/8" to maneuver the dishwasher into place. Once the dishwasher is in position, the DMT400 does have the side-mounting option necessary for your granite countertops. I would suggest contacting your local Best Buy appliance or installation team for more information. - Ms. Samsung

QuestionIs the color White still offered?I am looking to get the white color not stainless steel in a model that offers the heated dry option, either the DMT400 or the DMT800, but Best Buy only seems to offer white in the DMT400 without the heated dry cycle. Is it possible to order this? According to the Samsung website white is an available color but it doesn't seem to be available at Best Buy? Thanks.

- Answer Thank you for your interest. Samsung dishwashers do not use the built-in, hidden heating element to dry the dishes. The hidden heating element is used to heat the supplied water, as necessary, to achieve the pre-programmed temperatures during the wash cycles. The Sanitize option has the greatest impact in assisting the drying process because it raises the temperature of the dishes which results in quicker and more thorough evaporation. Samsung's fan-driven condensation drying method uses less energy for drying than a heated dry process would. The white Samsung dishwasher that is available at Best Buy is the DMT300RFW. This model features front-panel controls, quiet 51 dBA operation, 4 wash cycles and the Sanitize option, our digital leak sensor and hard food disposer. - Ms. Samsung

- Answer They are fairly new on the market and are NOT reliable. Read the reviews and you will see for yourself. I've had mine for ONE year and the motor is shot.
