QuestionI purchased this dishwasher 2 weeks ago, it runs for hours literally and my dishes are still dirty. What gives????

- Answer That's the way it was designed to work, apparently. This machine is absolute junk and Samsung needs to refund everyone's money because of bad design. Mine just turned a year old (of very light use) and the motor is now shot. I have to buy a new dishwasher. Grr. If you can get a refund/replacement then do it because I don't think Samsung designed these dishwasher for years of use.

QuestionThe dishwasher turns off when we open it mid cycle to add something.When we close it again,it stays off. Is it normal to have to push the power button again to resume? How do we know it's not starting over from the beginning of a new cycle?

- Answer Thank you for the question. The cycle should resume where it left off after the door has been shut for approximately 5 seconds. If it does not, I would suggest you contact 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can help determine whether service will be necessary. - Ms. Samsung

QuestionNew Samsung DMT400RHS dishwasher- Flashing "Heavy" lightDuring initial wash cycle, the dishwasher just did not finish the cycle, but the "Heavy" light started flashing and I cannot reset it. Tried recycle of power cord, and power switch, but cannot control the dishwasher or stop the flashing "Heavy" light. Help.

- Answer For us, this code indicated an install issue. The samsung must be installed to your garbage disposal and not to a drain in the floor.

QuestionHow do I attach my DMT400RHS to the side cabinets? I have a granite countertop so I can not attach using the counter brackets.

- Answer Read the installation/owners manual... it specifically tells you how to install it mounting it to the side cabinets and it even includes the screws for that. If you don't have the manual anymore, it's available online on the Samsung website.

- Answer Thank you for the question. Samsung recommends installing the dishwasher within 9.8 ft of the sink, so yours is within the recommended distance. However, I would suggest reviewing the installation guide which can be downloaded from Samsung's website to make sure your 9' measurement allows for the minimum height required for the hose to be hung to prevent backflow, in the event there is no air gap. The drain hose that comes factory installed on your dishwasher is approximately 5' long, and can be extended by purchasing another section of hose, then attaching it to the original hose by clamping them together with a steel sleeve. - Ms. Samsung

Questionwood floor installation ok?Since the dishwasher vents out the bottom, is it suitable for kitchens with wooden floors? Concerned it might warp, mold or peel the wood.

- Answer Thank you for the question. The condensation drying system in the DMT400RHS combines the warm air from inside the dishwasher with cooler air from the outside, which a fan then removes the moisture from before it is released through the vent. Since the air from the exhaust is relatively moisture and humidity free, it should not damage your wood floors. - Ms. Samsung

- Answer The DMT400RHS does have a hidden heating element used to heat the water to the appropriate temperature. Selecting the Sanitize option does improve the drying performance due to the amount of residual heat on the dishes. I hope this helps to clarify the features offered in the DMT400. QuestionNozzle not spinningMy machine fills and drains, but the top, middle, and bottom nozzles do not spin. The maching was working ok until yesterday. I have notice a sewer smell lately. The nozzle seem to be clean.

- Answer I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your dishwasher. Please follow the instructions for cleaning the nozzles on pages 20-21 of the user manual. Even if they appear clean, removing the spray arms and cleaning the nozzles may help to dislodge particles and will help to ensure the arm is engaged correctly when you replace it. When the dishwasher is loaded and ready for the next cycle to begin, try spinning the nozzle by hand before closing the door to make sure there are no dishes or utensils blocking its path. If the problem persists after following these steps, please call 888-BEST BUY or 800-SAMSUNG for further assistance. Thank you, Ms. Samsung

- Answer Thank you for the question. Samsung's water supply recommendation for installation is based on pressure measured in pounds per square inch (psi) rather than flow (gallons per minute). The hot water supply line pressure should be between 20~120 psi and the water heater temperature should be set between 120°F ~ 149˚F in order for the dishes to be cleaned properly. If the water pressure or temperature are too low, the dishes may have food particles left on them. - Ms. Samsung
