A:Answer I was told no by the salesperson at Best Buy as well as other people I spoke to. My understanding is the manufacturer changes the base slightly so that you are "forced" into purchasing a new base. I even asked the sales person if the installer would try the new washer on my old base to see if it fit, (I would then return the newly purchased base back to the store) , again I was told that it could not be done. I bit the bullet and paid for a new base.
