“Extremely loud popping sounds coming from inside The refrigerator makes extremely loud popping sounds typically at the end of its operating cycle. Whereas I understand some of these being typical, there is always at least one being extremely loud that can easily scare or wake one up at night. We have owned multiple brands before (never Samsung though) and haven’t had this experience with any of them… Is this typical for Samsung refrigerators? We have already ordered a replacement (same type) however, after reading other reviews, are seriously considering changing the brand all together. Please advise. Thank you!”

Hi KK, I'm sorry to hear the popping sounds coming for your RF28HMELBSR refrigerator are very loud. There are a variety of possible causes of these sounds, including temperature changes causing the plastic inside the refrigerator or air in the water lines to expand and contract. It's very possible that the louder sounds are related to the ice harvesting into the bucket, so I'd suggest turning the ice maker off at night or when the sound may disturb you, then back on in the morning or when you're leaving the house.
