• Great question, Shianne! According to page 20 of the user manual (https://bit.ly/3rTIgYe) the refrigerator will require a minimum of 2 inches of space in the back. ^Jecca

• The refrigerator can go nearly to the wall in the back - we have ours nearly all the way back in the niche. There is no tubing in the back other than that for the water supply
