I took temperatures on the right side of our drier half way through the cycle (medium heat) with an infrared thermometer. The temperatures ranged from the mid 80s to low 90s except at about 6 inches from the bottom where I got temperatures in the low 100s, with one spot 108. I presume the heating element is in that location.

Too much load on a low setting can lead to the dryer not heating enough. When you do laundry, you should consider the weight of each load you dry to get the best results.
