Steam is very helpful in getting out certain types of stains, by helping to loosen the fibers and release the stain or embedded dirt. Steam is also effective as a sanitizer. Thanks for the question! - Ms. Samsung
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Steam is primarily a way to improve a washer's ability to kill bacteria eliminating the need for bleach (unless you want extra whitening power). I own this washer and the steam comes on automatically when I select the program for bedding. I no longer use bleach because the steam along with the silver care pretty much eliminates every living thing that might find its way onto your sheets. (I wash mine every 4 days).
