Customers appreciate the quiet operation and large capacity of this washer. However, some customers find the wash cycles to be lengthy. The detergent dispenser also appears to be a source of some issues for a few users. Overall, the positive feedback on noise level and capacity outweighs the negative comments regarding wash time and detergent dispensing.

ALL IN ALL I HAD A FAVORITE WHITE SHIRT WHICH ENDED UP WITH BLOOD STAINS ON IT, I SOAKED WASHED AND SPRAYED WITH OLD WASHERS, THEN THREW SHIRT IN GOOD WILL PYLE, WELL WE JUST BOUGHT THESE NEW WASHER AND DRYER SO I DECIDED TO TRY WASHING IT IN STEAM CYCLE AND SUR ENOUGH THE STAINS WERE GONE IN 1 WASH, WOW IT IS PROVEN THESE GET CLOTHES CLEANER EXPECIALLY WITH WHITES, LOVE THE FEATURES AND WASH CYCLES,
NOW WITH THE DRYER IM ALITTLE CONFUSED ON, I CHECKED MY LINES AND MY VENTS ALL IS GOOD, BUT IT SEEMS THE DRYER DOESNT FULLY DRY MY CLOTHES, I LEARNED IT IS AUTOMATIC SENSING AND SHUTS OFF WHEN CLOTHES ARE DRY, BUT THEY ARE NOT DRY YET, LOL... IS THERE A SETTING OR SOMETHING TO GET THESE TO DRY IN 1 TRY? LOL ALL IN ALL I BOUGH HE STAINLESS PAIR AND LOVE IT VERY MUCH, ALTHOUGH OUT OF PAKAGE WAS A SCRACH ON THE DRYER, IT WAS HARD GETTING THEM UPSTAIRS SO IM TO LAZY TO TAAKE IT BACK,
ALL IN ALL LOVE THESE ITEMS, DRYER STEAM DOESNT SEEM TO BE EFFICIENT.. QUIET AND REALLY GOOD CLEANING POWER.. LOVE THE WAY THEY SMELL AFTERWARDS, I USE SAME SOAP AND SOFNER AS OLD WASHER AND DRYER BUT THESES JUST SEEM TO LEAVE A BETTER SCENT AND FEEL, CLOTHES ARE SOFTER, AND LOOK NEW

BEST Washer on market-silver care technology & VRT

I did extensive research before purchasing a new washer and dryer and I am SO glad I decided on the Samsung pair. Washing clothes is actually seamless now and my clothes are really really clean (didn't realize how dirty they were before). I can wash throw pillows, comforters, even delicate nylons and bras, and the washer is gentle on them and gets them clean. The KEY difference with the Samsung pair is the Silver Care technology. This is a cold water ionic cleaning that really removes stains from your clothes without the need for bleach, chemicals or stain removers. No other brand has Silver Care and this is a huge benefit that I wonder if most owners are taking advantage of (you have to add it to a cycle and it does extend the time by about 20 minutes which some people may not take the time to do---but very worth it). I use silver care on almost every load I do, much more than I opt for the deep steam component.
When I was doing the research into steam washers and dryers, it was confusing at first because everyone has good and bad experiences with all the brands out there. There are pros and cons about each. Some sets have a steam dryer only and not a steam washer, while others are revearsed and have steam for only the washer. For those out there wondering why steam, here you go: The steam washer component is a very hot deep cleaning cycle that is meant to better remove stains but should not be used for the delicate items. I use it mostly with whites along with the silver care, but I find that the Silver Care (only available on the Samsungs) is a much more effective stain remover and because it is cold water can be used on all types of clothing. The steam dryer is a totally different thing-it is used to steam your clothes and get wrinkles out. I use this occasionally and I like it, but I am suprised at how little I actually use it. It is nice to have the times when you do need it.
In summary, I am very happy with my Samsung set and would highly recommend them. I can now get all of our family laundry done by noon once a week when I used to be washing clothes all day long every other day it seemed. The Samsungs make it easy to just throw the larger loads in there and walk away. The only downside is that it does take longer to wash the clothes, especially when you add the Silver Care or steam cycles. But I have found that my clothes are much cleaner and I can do larger loads so it actually takes me less time overall. Plus, the washer is so effective in spinning the clothes (and quiet too) that the drying time is much shorter. I love that the dryer senses the time needed and shuts off early so as not to over heat and shrink your clothes! One last comment on the noise factor....this washer is so quiet I have it next to my young son's room so even if he is taking a nap it does not wake him or bother him. Happy shopping to all out there like me who are doing your research and looking for the best bang for your buck...which I found at Best Buy in store, as they not only matched all others best prices but combined deals so that I ended up saving about $700 off retail (better than any internet price) for set including the pedestals. Best Buy has a lifetime customer in me.

Best Purchase Ever

The Price was great, I was able to get the washer and dryer with no charge for the pedestals. The salesman also took some additonal dollars off my purchase. I did a lot of reading online before making a decision on which brand to purchase. I liked the fact that Samsung had the largest capacity steam washers and dryers and size was important to me. The reviews on this site just made my decision a little easier. My local Best Buy stores did not have the washer and dryer in stock so I bought them from the internet photos only. I was a bit apprehensive, but they are great. Not only are they a beautiful set, but they work superbly. I have tried every cycle, including steam and sanitize and they are all great. This set replaced a Maytag HE front loading set, because I wanted the steam function and the pedastals. My old set wouldn't fit under existing cabinets in my laundry room with the pedastals. Having a bad back, I could no longer bend to get the laundry from the low vantage point without pedestals. I do not recommend getting these without the pedestals. You will be disappointed in the long run. Wait till they have the free pedestal offer to buy. It's a savings of over $500. Delivery was prompt, effecient, and friendly. The installers even gave me time to mop my floor under the old appliances before bringing in the new ones. They are a bit pricey but when compared to some of the other brands without the capacity and features, it is a good price. Wouldn't hesitate to buy Samsung again.

Great washer, very quiet, extended wash times

I purchesed the washer and matching dryer 2 days ago. Since then have washed several loads. This washer is great. The cloths come out clean. So far seems very gentle on all fabrics.
I live in a second floor apartment. I thought it would be possibly too loud for the second floor. This is not the case. I have actually placed things in the washer and can not hear it when in my bed room with the door closed. Also there is no rocking, or walking of the washer during the rinse and spin cycles. Runs nearly silent.
The only problem I have with the washer is the extended wash times. It takes anywhere from 40 minutes up to 2 hours to complete a load depending on the load type and features you choose. I'm use to being able to wash a load of laundry in 30 minutes or less no matter what type of fabric or water temp you choose.
I would deffinately recommend this washer to all I know. It really is a great machine. Slightly costly however at this time well worth the price.
Have only had the washer for 2 days now so will update or write another review in a month or so.

Overall I really like this washing machine. There are many different settings, including hand wash. The capacity is great, since there are seven of us we do a lot of laundry. I have the machine on hard wood floors and we have no problem with vibration or noise. The only complaint I have at this point is that the laundry doesn't always smell clean, even when using fabric softener. I have adjusted the load size and that seems to help.

Great Washing Machine

I was sick and tired of doing multiple loads of laundry especially in the Winter time (e.g. jeans, sweatshirts, etc.). We also have a King size bed so every so often I had to run to the Laundromat to wash our comforter. Those days are over. It handles 2 sets of king sized sheets. To give you a sense of reference I am 6’ 3” and 250lbs. I washed in one load: 1 pair of jeans, 3 pairs of Dockers, 5 pairs of shorts, 5 t-shirts, 18 boxers and 12-15 pairs of socks. It still had room. As far as noise my wife commented that we could have this in our bedroom and not be bothered. My only small gripe is that the cycle times are long, about an hour. This isn’t a problem as it holds 2-3 loads of laundry compare to typical top loader. The issue is when you have a small load and still have to wait the hour. We just let more stuff pile up. Problem solved.

I bought the machine Memorial Day Weekend. I received a great price on it and the salesman was very helpful. I did not want to pay as much as I did but I am very glad that I went ahead with the purchase. I actually sat in front of the washer to watch it wash for a while. It was so quiet that at one point I had to come back and check to make sure it was really working. Large loads are great. My son will shove laundry in and the washer will take it. I haven't noticied a major cleanliness issue but then again we haven't been getting very dirty lately. I purchased the pedestals and am extremely glad that I did. Don't know what I'll put in the drawers though, especially if the pedestals are designed to prevent you from having to bend down all the time. You bend down for the drawers.

I've only had this unit for a short time. I never knew a washing machine could have so many bells & whistles. Very easy to use, unbelievably quiet even in my upstairs laundry room. Very Happy with this purchase so far, but do yourself a big favor and pay to have Best Buy deliver and set it up. This machine weighs nearly 250 Lbs. and I'm telling you it was not easy for two pretty strong guys to wrestle this thing upstairs and set it up! Trust me the $70 delivery and set up fee would be well worth it, especially if your going upstairs with it!

I have owned this washer for about 3 months now. I absolutely love it! It is extemely quiet and holds a lot of items (although not the 25 bath towels it claims to hold).
My only issue would be that it seems to dispense the bleach early in the cycle. I have had a few towels come out with bleach spots.
Otherwise I am completely happy with this purchase.

I have read about long wash times and agree that with the right settings they could run really long, but I have not found the normal cycle any longer than my older Kenmore washer. The silver care function works great on the really nasty things like dog beds, but it does add some time to any cycle.
The only drawback is the setup. The supplied Y-connector (needed if you have the steam dryer) has too high of a lip to allow clearance for the faucet knobs on the water connection. I had to turn off the water to the house, then turn on the faucet knob before installing the Y connector, hoses, and finally turning the water to the house back on. It worked, but kind of a pain. The local hardware store did not have a better connection.

Laundry is my new love!

I purchased the Samsung WF448AAP washer and DV448AGP gas dryer with pedestals at the St. Peters Best Buy. The sales woman, Pamela, was wonderful. She really helped us out with the price, which made the entire experience much better. My 6-year-old Amana washer was literally falling apart. I did not want to buy another washer, but to repair the Amana was going to cost more than we paid for it. So with our stomachs in knots, we decided to buy a new HE washer and dryer.
I love the new washer and dryer. I have only had it for a few weeks, but I also had a few weeks of dirty laundry to catch up on. I have had the machines running non-stop since they were delivered. The washer is so quiet that I keep going in the laundry room to make sure it is still running.
I love the Samsung washer and dryer. My clothes are cleaner than they ever were. Even my husband’s work clothes smell clean. He gets cutting oil on his clothes and the smell never washed out with the old washer. He keeps his dirty work clothes in a Rubbermaid bin because the smell is so strong. I used the Deep Steam cycle and his work clothes came out smelling like soap!
I highly recommend this washer and dryer to anyone. I no longer dread doing laundry. I am also impressed with Best Buy; the price was unbelievable!

I wanted the LG with Stream, but the sales lady told me all of the features with this unit. I really like the silver care option, it works great! I was a little worried about it being in my new house on the second floor, but it does not move at all. You can tell when it goes into the spin cycle, but nothing like my 10 year old maytag did.

The wash cycles are ridiculously long and don't get clothes any cleaner than other machines I've owned. The exterior is not durable, I have had it for less than six months and the top of the washer is scratched from placing a plastic laundry basket on top. I have had a chronic problem with soap and bleach leaking down the front of the machine, which got under the panel and caused rust and they won't replace the panel saying it's "cosmetic". The machines don't vibrate much but that is because they are so incredibly heavy ... forget ever moving them yourself to clean behind or for that matter to redecorate. The door hinge on the washer cannot be flipped if you need your dryer to sit on the left, which then means you are working around the door to put your clothes in the dryer. This machine is not worth 1/3 the price I paid for it. For service you have to call Samsung, then they call the dealer and the dealer calls you, which all just delays someone getting out to you. The matching dryer is worse ... read review. I'll sell you mine if you really want one of these machines.

I have had this washer, the matching dryer, and two pedestals for about two weeks. Everything went smoothly, from time of purchase, through delivery, and catching up with a couple of weeks of accumulated laundry. I tried to be very careful, reading reviews of many machines, and think that, while maybe I would have been just as happy with some of the others, these machines are fantastic! I haven't used all of the features yet, I am still being very entertained with being able to wash more and get it all done better and faster. I've even washed every blanket and comforter in the house. I replaced a 20 year old Kenmore pair that finally had both broken at the same time. What a marvelous change. I can't believe how much cleaner my end product is. I guess that we have been wearing slightly unclean clothes for a while. I have been keeping the detergent drawer a bit ajar, just in response to some of the suggestions that others gave about freshness. I also put a folded dishtowel inside the door so that it stays a bit open as well. Better safe than sorry, I guess. Silly as I thought it sounded in other reviews, I even enjoy the little song at the end of a cycle. I know, I should get a life, but in the life I have, I am actually having fun with a washer/dryer. There are now clothes that I used to hang to dry, that I let go through the dryer. My husband's wrinkle free cotton shirts actually come out wrinkle free! Since I don't iron, that is a very good thing. Some people complained about the extra length of time for a cycle. Since I can do more at once, that seems to be a non issue. Some people complained about it not putting enough water in, so that the clothes still had soap in them. I think that they are probably not following the directions on the HE detergent and machine. I have washed and washed and washed, and have not ever had that problem You really only need a tiny bit of that detergent. In some cases, more is simply not better. I have washed delicates, towels, blankets, jeans, everything. I have been keeping the books on top of the machines so that I can make sure that I am using the suggested cycles, etc. and it has all been perfect. My machines are on the ground floor, on tile on the concrete slab. Noise has not been a problem. I have had full loads of towels go to spin, and not even noticed, from 20 to 25 feet away through an open door. I never, or rarely ever, write reviews, and this one was a must. If you are on the fence, buy these machines.

Absolutely no buyers remorse. This set cleans great, looks great, and will wash a ton of clothes at one time. We replaced an old traditional washer dryer set, and I guess I have just worn partially dirty clothes since I was born, because their is a huge difference in how well this set cleans...
Don't worry about vibration with this washer. Our laundry room is over a crawl space and right next to our den. The machine is quiet and doesn't vibrate at all during the spin cycle (even when washing bedding) thanks to the VRT.
I would buy this set again, if we had two laundry rooms....

DETERGENT DISPENSER A BUST
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I have called the Samsung call center twice now regarding the detergent dispenser on my washer. The detergent leaks out of the dispenser before the wash cycle begins. Both times the call center operators told me to use powdered detergent. First of all, after looking at many local retailers it was apparent that Powdered HE detergent was not readily available and when it was it was not on sale, secondly, the washer clearly indicates in the dispenser the option for using either powder OR liquid detergent and as a consumer I would have no reason to believe that liquid detergent would not be able to be used when reviewing the machine in the store prior to purchase, thirdly the manual indicates that either powder or liquid detergent may be used in the dispenser and provides instructions for doing so. After that recommendation, I was asked if I was using a “quality” HE detergent…THE manual does not specify that I would have to use a specific brand but gives examples of HE detergents that can be used. (The words “such as” was used-page 20). After being questioned further, i.e. blaming the problem on me using too much detergent, the first operator did nothing but tell me that Samsung had not come up with a solution to the problem. I called again today and went through the same drill with the second operator. Samsung obviously has a mechanical problem that they are not admitting to consumers. This problem could be easily fixed, for instance replacing the blue detergent selector with one that has a casket on the bottom that would allow it to grip the bottom of the detergent compartment to prevent the leaking of detergent OR manufacture a liquid detergent cup that the consumer snaps into place yet allows the detergent to be washed out when the washer dispenses water into the dispenser. I have also had the bleach dispenser problem as others.I am very frustrated by the response that I have gotten. I purchased both washer and dryer as well as pedestals. I have spent a lot of money on these appliances and would expect your washer to handle liquid detergent. The least Samsung could have done is readily admit the problem and arrange resolution….the operator today told me that this was something that only happens on some of the washers in this model number and that a service call should take care of the problem. We'll see...

Started looking for a new set after my old Kenmore washer started abusing my clothes. Big fan of this washer. It's super quiet except for some intermittent noise when you use steam. Washes really well without beating your clothes. 1300 RPM spin makes drying much faster. Balances itself even on an uneven surface.
Was a little nervous after reading some reviews about the soap tray leaking/mishandling bleach. Haven't had any trouble with the tray.
Overall very pleased with this washer. Would buy it again without hesitation.

Upgrade from old washer & dryer

The Samsung Front Loading Washer and dryer with optional drawer stands were purchased three months ago. Our 35 yr. old machine finally gave up. For a replacement, I checked various online reviews and decided on Samsung machines based on energy efficiency, product reliability and cleaning ability. We went for the platinum finish and it is just beautiful. The laundry room never looked so good. The top is stainless steel and a little fragile and easily scratched, so take care with rough objects. I'm also glad to have the storage drawers below. They hold dog toys, a small waste basket for lint from the dryer and of course, the detergent. Someone will figure out, however, that the special HE (low sudsing) detergent's bottle recommended by Samsung only fits in the drawer lying on its side! No big deal. We were shocked to see our clothes visibly whiter after one washing. Some cycles are lengthy, but this can be adjusted to a "quick wash" if desired. A read-out states the time left and where the cycle function is at that moment. The powerful motor spins items quite dry on normal settings. Machine drying doesn't take very long even with heavy towels. The units also play a happy tune while turning off and on. Kinda funny. They seem to have thought of everything. Best Buy offered the most competitive prices. However, the special finish had to be ordered with a 3 week wait. Worth it!
