throw out the old one and get a hdtv antenna for this new tv because all today's tv are fully hdtv so the old one are not hdtv antenna so thats why you need a hdtv antenna and will get all channels so the high cost is better than cheap cost ok

I suspect the newer tvs may have some sort of shielding to keep stray noise from either entering or escaping, and if your antenna is in close proximity to the new set, and if the new one is physically larger, it may be shielding Ch 11 now where the old set did not.
