“Hello, will this, or any other "smart" tv work without having an internet connection? I ask because I have a small cabin deep in the woods and have no tv, or internet service available. I just want to hook up a DVD player and be able watch movies.”

In order to access online content you will need a persistent internet connection. The unit does however have HDMI inputs to allow you to connect external devices, such as DVD players, PCs, or gaming systems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Why spend the money for a smart TV? If you don't have internet or TV all you really need is a basic TV to hook your DVD player to. What you really want is a good quality picture for watching your DVD's and this one has a great picture in high definition. On the other hand, if you leave the woods, you would be able to connect and stream or watch whatever you want. I think you would enjoy all your DVD's on this TV...we do!!
