“I have a Samsung, looking to buy another. When streaming Netflix the picture is fine but the sound is coded in such a way that it cannot be heard through my sound bar. When I switch to Netflix through DVD player, sound works fine. Any ideas?”

The TV audio output most likely needs to be changed to PCM from Dolby Stereo to match the sound box. I typed PGM in the previous answer, that is wrong. Sorry.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have an older ZVOX sound box and it only accepts PGM inputs, not Dolby Stereo. Try checking your TV output settings in Audio. This drove me crazy until I found the issue. Good Luck
