I bought this model about five weeks ago. I'd done some research online and liked a smaller model in the line without the HD. While I was in the store my eye kept going back to the smaller version of this model though...the resolution/saturation of the color, and the sound were exactly what I was looking for. Then I saw this size and bought it. It's amazing for live events, news, animated features etc. For scripted shows and films, I am finding it a bit harder to adjust to the crispness of the resolution because it's a bit too real. Comedies especially seem to fall a bit flat, I think it's because the HD resolution makes the shows look like live action. I still need to play with the settings a bit for each genre, but I don't regret getting this model. My kid (19) is obsessed with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the more subtle shading allows the TV to provide a much better representation of the "depth of field" intended by the original camera operators that filmed/videoed the movies.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the clarity, accuracy, and crispness compared to non hdr tvs is noticeable. Comparing non hdr and hdr side by side you'll know the difference and it was the reason I went with this model. HDR produces better coloring and contrasting along with brightness. I would definitely recommend it, but if you aren't watching HDR content then it is debatable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought mine on sale for only $50 more with HDR. I feel we enjoy a better image. If I were willing to pay $200 more I would have considered a larger 55" model.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes the HDR is definitely worth it. The picture looks like live tv .
