“Since the speakers in the sound bar are up firing, shouldn't the sound bar be installed above of the TV to maximize the sound quality?”

• Speakers are always best at ear hight of the viewer. This soundbar claims to have upfiring speakers, but it has also front led , right and center channel speakers facing the viewer. Those are the ones which are always in action. The upfiring ones are active only during Atmos content and it should reflect from roof if your ceiling is not too high.

• Hi ThomasM! Samsung soundbars are designed to be placed in front of the TV on a stand, or mounted directly below the TV for the optimal audio experience. If placed too high, you will not get the full experience from the main speakers: front left, center, and front right. The height speakers on the HW-Q850A are used to enhance the surround sound and are strategically angled to give the optimal height effect when placed in this position. ^Tim
