I was just in a best buy store and the Samsung employee was honest enough to help me because my husband and I had the same question. Samsung sound bars like this one do not support DTS HD or DTS X. Star Wars, many comic book movies, Kingsman, Avengers, Jurassic World and hundreds more movies Are NOT recommended by Samsung. Samsung has the full warnings and information on their website.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes and No. It does decode them but only in 2 channel and then up-mixes them to surround with its own logic. If you are going to play primarily blu-rays then this might be an issue as a lot of them are mastered in DTS. 4k movies and almost all streaming is Dolby and those are losslessly decoded. The upmixer works fine for the blu-rays I have tried. Good blu-ray players can mix it and send PCM so there is that as well.
