Why does my fabric softener empty into the washer after I fill and close it? This doesn't happen every time, but often. I've wasted so much, it's irritating. null

I found that it happens when the reservoir is overfilled. Even when it is just under the max line it still leaks when shut. I have been filling the fabric softner cap and then dumping that into the reservoir, no problems since.
