I was a little confused about how the oven vented until I got the range and determined the venting for the oven is from the back of the cooktop. There is a grill that is about 2 inches wide that runs across the entire back of the burner area that vents the oven when it is in use. You can hear the fan running when the oven is in use (not the convection fan, the sound is different). I have not needed to run a hood fan when cooking in the oven so far, but would use my over stove hood if needed just like I do when I am using the cooktop burners as I would expect any "fumes" would vent from the back of the cooktop burner area and my range hood will contain that. Hope this helps. I love this slide in range, it is beautiful, functional and much nicer than my old one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
