QuestionMy current, old gas stove has a brushed stainless top that is TERRIBLE to clean. How is this cooking surface to clean?

- Answer Honestly I thought it would be a nightmare to clean. Didn't want stainless steel cooktop surface for that reason but I have found it so much easier to clean than I thought. The grill plates (or whatever you call the cast iron that sits over the burners) are easy to clean with soap and water. And the stainless steel surface cleans up much more easily than the black ceran top that my kitchen aide had. That was truly a nightmare to clean. It always looked like it was smudged. So far I am very pleased with the ease of cleanup.

QuestionWhen does the fan run?Does the fan blow out any air from the front? And. Does the fan turn on when JUST the stove top burners are on? Samsung 9500 gas range The decimal on the fan noise?

- Answer The fan is on the whole time that the oven is on, preheat and cooling also. This is a new feature for me, I never had the fan going when the oven is on! I imagine it is supposed to do that! The air comes from the back of the stove because when I have the oven on and have some burners on the air blows the flame from the burners so I use the front burners and put a pan in the way behind the burners I am using, so the flame does not blow around.

QuestionCan this stovetop still be used for cooking when the power is out?We lose power a lot and it is great to still be able to boil water or cook a hamburger when the power is out. This stove has far more electronics on it than my old stove has, but the old stove ALWAYS works.

QuestionSpills in the vents on the oven doorI am considering buying this stove. I saw a comment that caused me concern-spills down the vents on the door of the range go into the window and the person indicated that the door had to be taken apart to clean the spill. Is this a big issue with this range? Thank you for your time.

- Answer Spills are not a problem as far as my usage. The vents are on the vertical side of the door. I would think that it would be very difficult for a spill to go inside. With all window type ovens, there is a possibility, but I don't think this should be a big issue on this oven.

- Answer Don't see why not, we are using the warming drawer for storage which includes cast iron frying pans.

- Answer I find Ms. Samsung's answer to this question less than informative and possibly evasive. The 9950ws does indeed list an included conversion kit in documentation. Other documentation shows that while LP convertible, the 9500ws DOES NOT include the kit. Since the question was about the 9500 and not the 9950, would like to know an accurate answer. Also Samsung does not list a conversion kit for ranges on its website, only dryers.

- Answer Yes, the NX58H9500WS can be converted for use with propane using the LP conversion kit that's included with the new Range. Samsung recommends having a qualified gas installer install the kit and connect it to your gas line. Thanks for your interest, Ms. Samsung

QuestionWhat is a split rack ? Does it mean it bakes Two different things at the same time?

- Answer The split rack has a removable section on the right half. When it is removed, a tall item can be placed on a rack below and the split rack can hold something on the left side. This only works if the tall item fits in the right half of the oven.

- Answer I found a great stainless steel cleaner. Weiman's stainless steel spray cleaner. I don't know about getting scratches out, not sure anything can do that , but this stainless steel cleaner gets off all the finger prints and water stains. I use soap and water first on a sponge to remove any oil or food residue then the stainless steel cleaner on a kitchen rag.

- Answer I own this stove and love it. Only part that is black besides the burner grids, is the sides . They don't show being it is a slide in oven. The rest is a beautiful stainless steel. If you want a great oven and a beautiful upgrade for your kitchen, this is the stove to buy.

- Answer I have a basic 30 inch opening and it slid right in and ithe width can b e adjusted so there is no space between cabinet and stove and the height can also be adjusted. Love this slide in.

QuestionI just watched 5 yr old CNET review on this range. The reviewer said great features and looks but rated low for baking function (uneven and not roasting well). I would appreciate any input on these complaints but I make final decision. Thank you.

- Answer We saw that video too... after we ordered ours! We were a bit concerned, and had determined to take it back if there were any issues (2 months ago). However, I am happy to report that we are extremely pleased with the quality of the oven. We bake a fair amount, and have had the exact opposite experience from the video. This oven bakes more evenly than our old dual fuel Jennair or a recent LG purchase that we returned... yes, we're that picky. :-) Additionally, we are also very pleased with the stove top and the design of the grill.
