Regarding your concern, the oven fan operates only when the oven temperature increases. The fan van does not turn on when your top burners are on. Please try again later.Unlike the Electric Ranges with ceramic glass cook tops, the NX58H9500WS and other Gas Ranges do not have internal fans that cycle on to help cool the internal mechanism for the cook top. The convection fan in both gas and electric models does cycle on periodically when pre-heating the oven and to circulate hot air and maintain the temperature when convection modes are selected. The other sound you may hear with the Gas Range is the air as it mixes with the pressurized natural or propane gas when the burners are turned on. Thanks for the question, Ms. Samsung
