The higher you go in the series the brighter the TV gets. For example the 8000 series is brighter than the 7000 series Samsung TVs. I have had mine for a little over a month and I love it.

For example, the Samsung 8 series is typically their mid-range sets - not the lowest priced/specked entry point, but not their most feature rich/expensive set either. Another TV in the same/similar class is the Vizio M series.
