“How is the sound on this TV ? Will I need to add a sound bar ?”

I think the TV sounds great for such a thin panel. I got a Samsun HW K550 sound bar because I thought I would need it, and it is nice if you want sub-woofer tones, plus there were free surround sound speakers that came with. However, you can buy this TV with confidence in the sound.

Please try again later.We are using just the TV speakers which are very adequate.If you would want a bigger room filling sound then you would want to add a soundbar or better yet a receiver and bigger speakers.Depends on how you are using the TV. The 9000 does have better speakers than the 8000.
