Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the exceptional picture quality, including color vibrancy and HDR performance, as a major pro. The ease of setup and user-friendly smart TV features are also frequently praised. However, some users express concerns regarding the remote control's functionality and ease of use. Overall, the positive feedback on picture quality and ease of use outweighs the negative comments about the remote.

Reasonably-Priced TV if you Stream 4K Content

I bought this 4K TV to replace a failing 3D Plasma TV and so far I'm liking the upgrade. Since there isn't yet any 4K broadcast content, you'll either need a subscription to a 4K streaming service like Netflix or Amazon or to invest in a 4K Blueray player to really see the difference. While the TV can upscale, the CPU devoted to that job is both early generation and cheap, which means your upscale experience is likely to be a dodgy one. I've seen upscale fails trying to render gradients that instead of a crisp clear picture look like an old computer monitor from the 90s. If you plan to wall mount this TV on a frame, be aware you have to use two special adapters (provided) on the top wall mounts. It appears that having a very slim TV means there is not enough space to provide big mounting holes on the TV itself. You'll either love or hate the minimalist TV remote. Certainly I found entering account details for streaming services to be a tedious chore because QWERTY keyboards are hard to navigate with the remote. Once all the keyboard work is done however, the day-to-day remote experience is fine. You might also want to invest in a digital audio cable because if you use the built in TV apps to stream content there is no way to send the audio back through an HDMI cable.

Being a former Plasma TV owner it was hard to find a TV with a comparable picture. I bought a Samsung 8000 but was not satisfied with the pix. Returned it and got the 9000 series. It is wonderful I am really enjoying this TV

The TV was easy to setup. I used the standard profile settings for everything and the internet was also easy to connect at 5GHz. There was an immediate software update, followed by an ad policy agreement a week later. You HAVE to agree to ALL parts of the ad policy agreement in order to get it off the screen but you can then go into settings->support->terms&policy: choose the policy and change it. Unfortunately I don't have any 4K entertainment but I wanted to have the technology for the future but the TV experience has been overwhelming coming from a regular TV. I am seeing things in shows that I have never seen before or vehicles seem surreal when the move on screen. A feature that caught me off guard was the "Eco Sensor". If you don't know what these are, (simple explanation) well they adjust the screen's brightness based on light in the room. I thought something was wrong with the TV the first time I noticed it, after it happened a couple of more times, I argued with my wife afterwards when she thought there was a sensor causing it (I did not ever read anywhere about something like that before buying it). Well she was right...You know how us men hate to admit that. The apps are easy to navigate (only have used Netflix & YouTube). It integrates well with your tv service provider (DirecTV). DirecTV channels can be managed completely through the Samsung but you cannot manage any recordings, so you will have to switch back to the DirecTV DVR to set, manage and watch recordings. YouTube worked very well and I did go to the Samsung 4K channel to view the videos there. They were awesome (the only 4K I've seen on the TV). Netflix was easy to setup but I found it kind of hard to navigate. When you search for something to watch and find a program you are interested in. You have to click on it, which takes you to the program info but very soon afterwards the program starts. This is really annoying since you are only trying to find out about the program. So to add to this: If you watch programs that have series (whether you complete an episode or stop in the middle) it will continue to prompt you continue to watch that programming. The only way to get it out of the list is to log in the website via internet and clear your history there.

I've used this tv for streaming 4k and HDR from Netflix, Amazon, YouTube, and other services and it had performed flawlessly. I use an Nvidia Shield to stream games from my pc and that has worked great. Minimal lag.

So I had been shopping for TV's for a few months now and had been to Best Buy numerous times to look at the Samsung KS8500, Sony XBR-55X850D and the LG OLED. I was ready to purchase the LG when I asked one of associates to talk me out of it. He took me to an end cap where they had just unpacked a returned Samsung KS9500 and hooked a Blu-ray player up to it for me and threw in "X-Men: Days of Future Past". I was immediately blown away! Don't believe any of the hype about blacks on this TV vs. an OLED...they are simply amazing. When I got the TV home, I hooked it up to my Nvidia Shield and started streaming Netflix. Yes, the KS9500 has the Netflix app built in, but I love the Nvidia Shield and it's UI. The content looked great (I have a 100mbit fiber connection, so the stream is really high quality) and was a marked improvement over my 12 year old Samsung DLP (that BTW with a lamp change was still going strong). I thought, it's better, but it didn't blow me away. So I watched the entire first season of Bloodline, fiddling with the various picture modes and expert settings. I found the settings that suited me perfectly. Mind you, these aren't color-corrected, hyper-accurate setting, but they looked fine to me. I might get ambitious and hook my Spyder5 up to it one day, but for now I'm enjoying the TV too much So I finished season one of Bloodline and was getting ready to move onto season two when I realized I hadn't watched anything but Netflix on my new TV. So I dug out my Toy Story 3 Blu-ray and threw that in my PS3. OMG!!! I literally got chills watching Toy Story 3 on my new KS9500. Now I had to try other Blu-rays...Avatar, Dead Pool, Captain America: Civil War, Shooter, American Sniper...every one of them blew my mind. I was literally taking photos of the image on the TV and sending them to my friends...who got sick of that pretty quickly at 11:30pm on a school night. Long story short, buy the TV. My only complaint thus far has been the remote, which sporadically works when streaming using the included apps, though it is pretty sporadic. I completely alleviated this issue by purchasing a Harmony Home Companion remote, which BTW was another awesome purchase. This TV is spectacular. Oh yeah...the sound is pretty good too, though after the first listen, I immediately started pumping the audio through my Yamaha receiver and Monitor Audio speakers. I have not been able to test the 4k performance as I don't have anyway to play 4k content other than streaming and that still isn't as good as off a disc. Buy the TV. If you're a movie buff like me, it will immediately improve your viewing experience and make you want to wait for the movie to be released in 4k or on Blu-ray and curl up on your own couch, with an adult beverage, knowing that the only phone that will be going off during your movie...is yours.

This is my first 4K TV and quite an upgrade from an older 47" Samsung I bought in 2009. The picture quality is incredible in comparison and the built-in speakers are more than adequate for the small living room space I have. I'm really impressed with the OS and apps. I've used smart TVs before at friends' & family's houses and they were always slow and clunky, but the interface on this TV is buttery smooth and fast. Netflix, Amazon, Vudu, and Plex are all I need. It's also a bonus that the remote functions with my Xbox One. The separate box it comes with for connecting all of your devices seemed odd at first, but I realized it would be really convenient for wall-mounting the TV. Connect everything up and you will only have one cable running up the wall. The price was steep since it's a newer model and I'm hoping it'll last as long as the 6-year-old TV it replaced (which still works perfectly fine).

In July 2016, I was looking UN55KS8000 and UN55KS9000. Both are FLAT Panels. It was hard to decide which one I want. I found both TVs almost same but KS8000 have MR 240 and UHD Dimming. KS9000 have Supreme MR 240 and Supreme UHD Dimming. Both price are different. If you will pay more few hundreds on KS9000. If you don't want to pay more and try to save some few hundreds on KS8000. I already checked on review online before I buy it. I am glad and decided to buy UN55KS9000 !!! I love it. I wish it come with 3D. Sadly, they don't come 3D anymore. It is gone and forever. HDR is awesome in the picture. MY eyes are falling out! Laughing Out Loud! KS is way better than my old Samsung H6350 TV! I am happy. Go for it. Get KS9000 !! But KS8000 is good too.

I intentionally waited to write this review so we could get some real world use out of it. This is not the first smart TV we have had. It is however the easiest to access apps like netflix, amazon videos and other apps. With our other "Smart" tv we purchased a roku to access these apps since it took so much time to get into them on the TV. There is no need for our Roku any more. We can access everything we need. Picture is great! my mother in law comments on it every time she comes over. We hooked up a surround sound to improve sound quality, but it is fine on its own for regular tv viewing. They tried to simplify the remote, but it increased the learning curve for usability with our tv service provider or use multiple remotes. As we are hooking up smart home functionality, this does not make much difference to us, but could be bothersome for someone with little technological ability. All in all, we love our tv, great picture and easy usability for day to day functionality.

This 4K TV is the perfect one to future proof yourself. The screen is a beautiful 4K with HDR that has amazing color and deep blacks. The metal bezel and stand work well so it doesn't look cheaply made. Comes preloaded with all the essential apps like Netflix, Amazon, HBO, etc. Has very detailed calibration tools to assist for movies, games, and other non 4K content.

Was hesitant to purchase the TV at first with reports of people having issues with various samsung TVs but I love this tv and have not had any issues with the tv. The sound and picutre on the tv is great. Of course the sound doesn't compare to a sound system, but it doesn't have a tin can quality to it that some televisions with lesser speakers have. When watching action shooter movies if I turn the volume loud enough it actually has good bass.

Maybe I am not used to Led tv's, but I am disappointed in the judder of this tv. I had high hopes, with it being a "smart" tv and all, but am not real happy with the herky jerky picture, especially at this price point. Colors are sometimes great and sometimes, not so much. I can't seem to find a sweet spot with the settings. I DO love the seemingly edgeless picture. The apps are great snd work well, and the tv was easy to set up on wifi. If they could fix the judder (even with slow moving images) then they would have hit it out of the park. But, for this model, I would pass, as it falls short. Maybe if Best Buy displayed their tv's with cable or sattelite tv one would have a better understanding of the capabilities of the products they are selling (not the perfected image displays that the manufacturers manipulate to make it appear better than it will actually perform).

I've never owned a flatscreen TV and have been used to using a projector to watch movies on for the last couple of years. I can say with confidence the blacks are super rich here, and the HDR feature really brings to life those shadow details. As the title of my review says about setting up. Well, I'd suggest putting this TV in video game mode because it handles motion so much better than the standard motion options, which can actually appear to show glitches here and there almost at random. I almost returned this TV until I played around with this option located in advanced settings.
