Q: what is the difference between the 8000 and 9000 in this model besides the base.
A: The 9000 has a few extra features for local dimming, better motion rate technology (8000 has Motion Rate 240, and the 9000 has Supreme Motion Rate 240) and the speaker is a bit more powerful on the 9000. The majority of the other differences are either aesthetic or superficial. I have the KS8000 which is replacing a JU7100 and I love it. I considered getting the 9000 but decided it wasnt worth the extra $600 for the differences. After reading a lot of reviews most reviewers said they cant even notice the differences as far as picture, and performance. I will say that I prefer the stand on the 9000 because on the 55" KS8000 the legs have only one position and they are about 44" apart and the stand I have is only 42" wide. So I had to get a nice piece of black wood, and set that on my stand and it worked great. On the larger versions of the 8000 there are alternate leg positions that would have fit, but not on the 55" version. Anyway I ended up writing more than I was going to. Hope it helps.
Q: Can this tv be mounted on the wall?
A: Yes. I used a Rocketfish mount.
Q: How is the sound on this TV ? Will I need to add a sound bar ?
A: I think the TV sounds great for such a thin panel. I got a Samsun HW K550 sound bar because I thought I would need it, and it is nice if you want sub-woofer tones, plus there were free surround sound speakers that came with. However, you can buy this TV with confidence in the sound.
A: 120HZ - the 240 is a Samsung marketing ploy - manyTV manufactures do this.
A: Try to see if you unplug the tv and then plug it back in and go to samsung website for that information and if all else goes wrong call the samsung or go to bestbuy and your nearest store and taje it in to get it fixed
Q: What type of 4K cables did you used, hate to spend $70 plus dollars on the hdmi cable.
A: I am using cables that I spent less than $20 each on all of them. Search for something like "Do I need to pay a lot for HDMI cables?", and you'll see why you dont need to pay a lot for great quality. Hope this helps.
A: We did, but we don't live too far from the store.
Q: How wide is the tv stand base ?
A: STAND FOOTPRINT: 33.9" x 15.9" x 14.8" from Samsung Spec Sheet
