The Samsung KS8000, KS9000 and the KS9800 are all labeled HDR1000 however, the KS9800 is actually 1400nits being as its full array and not bottom edge lit.
In terms of being comparable with new UHDBD players yes, as long as you're player supports HDR-10 and no Dolby Vision HDR.
