When comparing the 6 series to the 8 series it is a pretty big difference . It you want quality ... but a smaller 8 series , if you mostly watch just general tv with light action or not hd and not sports ... you would be ok with a 6 or 7 series. If you play console games on it ... buy the 8 or higher series ... I have all three 6, 7,,8. The 8 is better tv for gaming and watching sports and action movies.

But the picture quality in the Series 8 is better. If you can fit a 75 inch and your primary viewing is sports, then I would go with the Series 6. But, if the TV is for general viewing, then I would go with the Series 8 - even though it's a smaller screen. That's what i did. And you will still get a great viewing experience for sports on the Series 8. Also, I purchased a new mount - one that can be adjusted for multiple settings. Plus, it's a lot easier to get behind the screen for adding stuff like an Apple TV, putting in HDMI cables, etc.
