We went ahead and ordered the washer & dryer and Best Buy is currently scheduled to come out and install it them the first week of April...but I think we're going to have to cancel the order if they each require 37.5" wide. The website lists the width as 27" and the entire width opening we have for the 2 units is 60.5", so I thought we'd be safe on the width. I was very nervous about the space required behind...it's a tight squeeze since the depth of the laundry closet is only about 35.5" (they list the machine depth at 32.5". Oooooh, it might be too tight of a fit for our closet. Samsung: if you're reading this can you please verify? I don't want to cancel my purchase if I don't have to.

You're basically limited by the diameter of the vent hose - basically that's the minimum width from the wall, is the width of the dryer vent hose. My assumption would be it's the same amount of space that's behind your current machine, no more, and likely no less
