    • Answer If you mean the exhaust hose, yes, you do need it hooked up, great machine too! Really pleased with it. I figure you’re getting the gas model? You would also need the gas hook up if you are. If electric model, obviously you would not. Good luck

Regarding your concern, as long as the backing of the rag is not rubber, you can use the washing machine.
