Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. From the tv you can i still have not found a way to hook it up to play sound from the apps. From what ive read buy a new hdmi that supports arc and hook to either hdmi port that is labeled for arc and to the out arc on your surround and make sure they are turned on in your settins on both your devices.

Be sure the Toslink is the INPUT and the Analog is the OUTPUT. This will allow you to connect to any older audio system that lacks Digital Optical inputs. Option 2 (Best audio): Purchase a new surround receiver. Most surround receivers nowadays have Digital and analog inputs and outputs and also has the above mentioned digital to analog converter built in. This is the best option for sound as it will have it's own built in audio amplifier and will allow you to hook up to your old system through the analog outputs or you can hook directly to each speaker. I use a Yamaha 500W (Watt) 5.2 channel surround receiver. Whatever you get just make sure it has the right inputs and outputs to match your equipment. This may sound dumb, but remember: OUTputs come FROM the TV / INputs go TO the speaker. You'd be amazed how often people get that mixed up.
