By far the best TV I've ever owned

    • My Best Buy® Elite Plus MemberElite Plus Member

I really can't say enough good things about this TV. I couldn't possibly be happier. Setup: The setup was easy. Samsung makes it simple to get the TV out of the box, and the stand attaches in seconds. To connect your devices, there are two USB ports, three HDMI ports, an audio optical out, an RJ45 network jack, component ports, and an aux coax for cable/satellite. Connect your devices, run through a few menu screens to set your language, connect to your WiFi, etc, and you're ready to go. Apps: The TV comes bundled with some great apps like Netflix, YouTube TV, Amazon Video, and Pandora (to name just a few), and displays them in a sleek, easily accessible interface. Open your favorite apps, sign up/sign sin, and start watching. You can also add more apps and even arrange them in the order you want them to appear in your menu. One feature I love is while I'm scrolling through the apps, recommended content appears right above them, and I can scroll through that content without having to actually open the app. It makes finding something to watch incredibly easy. Picture: The picture is absolutely amazing. I cut the cable/satellite cord a while back and now use YouTube TV exclusively for my live TV, and I can't get over how sharp and vivid the picture looks. It must be doing some brilliant upscaling because YouTube TV is 1080p, while it seriously looks like 4K to me. And I thought my old Vizio had great color, but this blows it out of the water. It's not HDR, but I don't care. The colors are so rich and vivid that it practically looks HDR to me. I was looking specifically for a TV that features the "soap opera effect," and this TV definitely has it. Simply crank up the "Judder Reduction" picture option, and wow. It's not for everyone, but I like it for some things, particularly action movies and gaming. It makes it look like the action is happening live in my living room, and games look so realistic it's scary. I have my Xbox One X connected, and the games look incredible. Sound: I run my sound out of the optical audio to my Vizio soundbar, but I did do a bit of testing with the TV speakers, and they sound great. They have a very full sound with plenty of bass. Surprisingly good considering you can't even see the speakers. I watched a bit of Mad Max: Fury Road and was impressed with the sound. Remote: I really like this remote. My old Vizio's remote was so simple that, other than turning the TV on and off, it was practically useless. You had to use a mobile app if you wanted to dig into settings or change any options. While I appreciate the mobile app, I'd like my remote to offer some basic functions. The Samsung remote is perfect. It's comfortable to hold, and while it's simple, it does everything I need it to do without having to go to a mobile app. All of the apps and menus are easily accessible, and it even has voice command. I don't use it myself, but it's there in case you're into that. Overall: I've always been a Samsung fan and have owned multiple Samsung phones, TVs, tablets, and other products, but I had gotten away from their TVs for a while due to Vizio's quality TVs at really low prices. Not anymore. I'm back with Samsung to stay. This TV makes my 65" Vizio look like a joke. I really can't find one single thing I don't like about it, and I can't recommend it enough.

Huge UHD TV monitor for good price

    • My Best Buy® Elite Plus MemberElite Plus Member

About four years ago I purchased a TV at Best Buy. I got the 5 year Geek Squad warranty and that TV broke. This was what we negotiated to replace my 70" HDTV. As such I am quite pleased, I will explain positives and negatives as clearly as I can. The basic sound with this TV is terrible. Change it to enhanced and it is quite good, very easy to hear and it projects well. It is a bit boomy as it has an enhanced bass feature that you cannot adjust once you pick the enhanced sound mode. That's a little annoying, but most TV shows don't exhibit this "defect" too much, so depending on your environment, you may or may not notice it. We have 24" studs in our walls, so they vibrate more than the standard 16" studding would. The picture is vibrant, bright, and the TV does a good job at upscaling from 1080p and 1080i. There is minor image smear once in a while, but mostly it keeps up. I needed to adjust the voice delay to get lip synch. That might be a matter of my Comcast is 1080i and needs more processor time to get it to 2160p. Netflix is stunning when playing 4K native mode. We have 100kb+ internet and the 4K is simply amazing. Perhaps there is better, but going from 1080p to 4K is heart stopping. This TV is 5" diagonally bigger than the old TV, but because the border around the TV has gotten smaller in those 4 years, it is only marginally larger. We adapted to the larger image in a few days. However, I'm still taken by the brightness, color, and clarity of the image. The TV we had was a Sharp, so it was no slouch, but this one blows it away. We have only used the smart remote a little, as we have an universal remote and it handles all our home theater equipment well. Those used to an ipod will feel comfortable immediately with the universal remote. However, it's not just up down type controls. It's onscreen control. As such we pretty much just set it aside and use it if needed. Would I recommend this TV to others? I would, I like it a lot. It's a pleasing TV. If I were to buy it, the price seems very good when one compares the quality and capabilities of the TV. We use it for Blu-Ray, Netflix, and Comcast. All worked right out of the box without error. I'm very pleased with the upgrade.

Try this before you invest in pricier models

I have to admit that I did a lot of review reading on this model before I purchased. It seemed to get mediocre ratings if not excoriated on certain points. I had my heart set on a higher-end Sony xbr75x940e, which was literally almost three times the price. I’m glad I didn’t buy that model. I wanted a bright TV with a sharp, clear picture. This TV delivers on that quite well, I think Only a hardcore audiophile Would need or want more, but this TV is a great bargain for the performance it delivers and I think most people would be more than satisfied with its capabilities. There is such thing as over buying. There is such thing as over buying. I found the picture to be very bright and crisp when adjusted to the various settings that are available as well as the sound, as I was thinking I would have to go out and get a sound bar right away. I find the amplify setting on the sound menu makes for a powerful delivery and I only have to set the volume a quarter of the way up it’s range to have plentiful sound for most occasions. The remote is great, very small and slender in the hand and I do like the ability to change channels by voice. As others have mentioned, it would be nice to have a backlit function but I don’t watch TV in the dark anyway so it’s not a dealbreaker. It is nice that it will also work my Xfinity box and my DVD player although I have to admit I do prefer using those for their designated functions. I think that I had fairly high expectations of what I was looking for in a new TV purchase, so I would strongly recommend trying this one before buying a more expensive model for slightly if any marginal performance increase.

    Overall Great TV and Purchase

I wanted to upgrade my visual experience in the great room and I had the 65 inch Samsung there and was pleased so decided to stick with Samsung; put the 65er in the master bedroom. This 75er TV has a great picture and easy to use. I decided to buy the sound bar that just went on sale at $149 instead of the $349 price and got TV for $1,499 sale. Sound bar with the bluetooth subwoofer is great when place at opposite side of the room(I put subwoofer it in the back of room). I had Best Buy install and they did a great job setting it all up and making sure both TV's were working fine. I saw a lot of comments bout the HDR option, the installers who is a contract installer and has his own audio install company recommended that I do not use the HDR cause it makes the white like a cream white and not crisp and the black is over compensated so I stuck with his opinion and opted not to use it, but it was useful input from them. I've been using the TV and playing around with it and all simple and looks great in the great room. I highly recommend this TV if you're not a gamer looking for some fancier upgrades yet looking for a great quality picture at a reasonable price and get the sound bar especially now at the $149 cost.

    Great TV for the price

    • My Best Buy® Elite MemberElite Member

I bought this TV during the 4 day Labor Day sale. It was above my price range but had dropped into it during the sale. I was a little worried the morning they installed it due to some reviews talking about shadowing etc. They installed it on a wall in my living room and fired it up and WOW it was great. I did turn on Netflix after they left and noticed the shadows they were talking about but that was my internet catching up to the 4k. Once it did the picture was unbelievable. I have already watched 3 TV shows and tried a game for my XBox and they all looked great. They are right though you have to turn the TV way up for good volume but it was a non issue after I hooked it up to my receiver. If this TV is in your price range I would highly suggest taking a look.

    Beautiful, but limited

First let me say the picture on this is great. It easily connects and recognizes even older connections such as a Playstation 3. That being said It didn't recognize my firestick (didn't need it as it has prime app, but just wanted to try). The first TV I got would not connect to the internet wired or wirelessly. After going through customer service with Samsung and them blaming the internet connection, and then talking to my isp and them saying nothing is wrong, I finally called BB to do an exchange because of the issue which the person basically tried to say I was an idiot and didn't know how to setup the tv, but none the less I got the exchange a couple days later and this time no problem connecting to the internet. If you sign into Netflix it will automatically provide you with UHD 4K content as a separate category. I gave it a good mainly because the apps available are limited. Samsung needs to step up their game in bringing more apps. I shouldn't have to go through a 2nd gen Apple TV, and Xbox One to get more apps than a new TV.

Tech issues that Best Buy and Samsung failed on.

Been wanting a Samsung 4k for a while, so I finally got this beauty. Great picture! Great price! But the tv had issues out of the box. I called Best Buy and was transfered and put on hold....for half an hour. I had to give up because I had to leave home. When I returned I got online with Samsung tech for 2 hours. They couldnt help and after a while decided not to help so I hung up and quit for the night. Next evening I went online with Samsung again. T heir tech was baffled and pretty the meantime I figured a way around their repair pointers and was able to tell them how to fix the issue. I have had yet other issues since, but I believe I have hammered that out without trying to get help this time. So far so good. If i were samsung and or Best Buy I would be offering me a rebate or something along those lines.

We had been researching tv's for several months trying to find the best one to fit our budget, and let me tell you, this one delivers! First off we got it for a steal ($1499.99); it has a beautiful crisp picture, easy set up/use, and even though it doesn't state it in the description, it DOES have HDR!! you just have to turn it on in the settings menu. The sound is satisfactory, it's fine without a sound bar, but we will eventually get one, just make sure you go into your settings and adjust the sound. It comes set to standard sound which is terrible! We set ours to optimized and it's perfect! This 75 inch tv fits our space beautifully and we couldn't be more pleased with our purchase.
