This is my second SSD from SAMSUNG. I had first the 500GB version for my video files on my desktop (the OS was already on a SSD, but the data needs to be on a separate SSD to speed up reading), and now the "Samsung - 850 EVO 1TB Internal Sata III Solid State Drive - Black" version for my Laptops main hard-drive, OS. If money is no problem, take the "pro" version of this hard-drive. Otherwise the "850 EVO" last long enough until you have to upgrade your whole computer (every 5 years!!!). (5 computer years is like 72 human years!) There are 4 important ways to speed-up your computer: 1. Upgrade the ram to the maximum (I did) 2. Upgrade the Video card (I did Nvidia 1080) 3. Upgrade to SSD (now I did for my Laptop) 4. Separate the OS system from the data storage (Have 2 SSD's, one for data, and one for the OS). BUT to make it clear, the biggest impact is the SSD upgrade for the OS. OS = Operating System (like Windows 10, or ... ) Hope that helps you ...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I recommend the "Samsung - 850 EVO 500GB Internal Sata III Solid State Drive" for any computers OS, no matter Laptop or desktop. 250GB is sometimes to small. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The price of the drive varies with the storage capacity. To install can vary with how much you want to do yourself, or are comfortable doing. Samsung bundles migration and driver software with each of their SSDs to make it seemless to put into existing machines. For installation of this drive you just need a SATA port and power connector (fairly standard nowadays and easy to get or are already included). Doing all this yourself is generally quite easy and seemless, though not a guarantee.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. On the older style hard drives you have many moving parts which depend on electric motors and bearings which both take time to get up to speed and potential problems when these motors and bearings fail. SSD drives have eliminated the weak links
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have purchased 3 of the EVO 850 1TB installing 1 in a MacBook and 2 in my Mac Pro. I'm really pleased with the performance and Boot of the MacBook and even more pleased with the performance of the Mac Pro. Information is stored faster and overall performance of the SSD is great. You'll see the performance improvement. That is my experience so far. I would suggest reading a little about their performance and cost comparison before deciding which is best for you. I chose the Samsung EVO 850 after reading Pros and Cons and seeing the comparison to other SSD's in performance and cost. Also, be aware that it is important to purchase from a reputable source as there have been counterfeit SSD's sold on Amazon. I was hesitant to purchase the 1 TB as I was worried about the cost. After losing 1 relatively new Sea Gate 2 TB (less than a year old), I needed reliability and Samsung offered a 5 year warranty. On a few of their other SSD's they offer a 10 year warranty. After loosing the SG 2 TB with no back up (shame on me) I really wanted some comfort in longevity. Regarding installation, there should be something on You Tube in regards to the installation of the emachine or something close enough to allow you to easily switch. I hope this helps.
