At first I wasn't real impressed with this hard drive after I installed the software that came with it and enable the rapid mode. Its made a Huge Difference in speed. Read and write speeds are lighting fast.

bought this needing an extensive amount of space, speed, and slim size. installed into my desktop. currently have it allocated for just games (305GB of 931GB). works quite well. have had this for just over a month and no issues, despite what i have read online. 4 out of 5 stars, because i found i could have bought this online cheaper than BB. :P battle.net games and steam games run well off of this and win 8.1.

I have an 8yr old laptop, after a huge software upgrade the laptop slow down big-time ,( ex. It will take 2minutes to move through programs or pull up pictures) after looking into different products I chose Samsung Evo 1Tb. After I upgraded from the hhd to ssd. I see a huge difference the speed & improvement Like a new laptop again. Definitely recommend.

This is my first rating of anything I've ever purchased. I just wanted to let everyone know what a difference this drive has made to the operation of my laptop. The laptop is about 5 years old. It was really starting to slow down booting up, using Microsoft Office software, etc. I tried cleaning up the drive, took lots of files and programs off the computer but to no avail. I started looking into buying a new computer, but decided to try this drive based on its reviews. It was extremely easy to install and the migration of everything from the old drive to this drive was seamless. Booting up from the off position now takes less than 30 seconds (I have Windows 10 installed.). It's almost instantaneous from the sleep mode. All the programs work like a dream now, and I've been able to put some back on that I took off. I'm not interested at all at buying a new computer now. I highly recommend that you look into buying this drive if you've been experiencing a slow computer, you won't be sorry.

The Samsung EVO 850 works great and is lightening fast. I installed it in no time in my new laptop and worked like a charm. Super fast. I usually use crucial but I thought I'd give Samsung a try since they were going for the same price at the same time. If you are looking for an SSD this item is worth giving a good look at purchasing.

This is a very fast boot drive fast search Easy install cloning software work right on My macbook pro works a lot faster for music & movie play back. Overall the drive is working get. I use my laptop 5 days a week. I'm on it like 5 to 7 hrs a day been a month still working strong.

The Samsung 850 EVO line is one of the best consumer SSD products on the market providing a nice balance between performance and cost. The 850 Pro line provides a bit better performance and some additional benefits, but for the average consumer (and gamer) this drive provides ample speed and if you really need more performance just put two in a RAID-0 array and never see loading screens again. The 1 TB drive I received benchmarked right around the advertised speed and IOPS for both reads and writes. I am quite pleased with my purchase.

I replaced the original hard drive in my HP desktop PC that I use for work with this SSD. I had heard that an SSD works faster than an HDD since there are no spinning parts, but I was completely shocked at how my PC performed after this was installed. It powers up and boots in a minute or less now, versus a slow, agonizing start. I always that the PC needed more RAM, not realizing how much of a difference having an SSD would be. It’s like I have a brand new PC. In fact, I’d go as far as to say it’s now performing better than it did new! The installation was easy. I’m an accountant, not a tech person, and I managed the whole project on my own one weekend afternoon.

I upgraded to this from an OCZ Vertex 500GB SSD. The drive actually boots and runs most programs faster than the Vertex did. Installation was quick and easy, and I have plenty of space now, all on one drive!

I needed a new hard drive quickly for a MacBook Pro that went down at a most inopportune time. The hard drive failed. I had a backup, but wasn't sure what to buy for a replacement. Replacement ASAP was a huge issue. A quick trip to my local Best Buy found SSDs on sale. I ended up with a 1TB Samsung 850 EVO SSD for not much more than online prices. Installation and data restoration were a breeze... I never did use the driver provided on the included media. It's been working for a couple of months now regularly; no complaints. Speedy (compared to the original drive), quiet and cool. Breathed new life into my older MacBook Pro. Highly recommend it.

Replaced two spinning platter hard drives with two of these in RAID configuration on my personal primary workstation at home. More expensive than their classic counterparts but more reliable and quieter. Been using for about a month now with no problems. Can't see why anyone would pay up for the 850 PRO series; the EVO series is more than adequate for 99% of users.

I originally picked up a 500 GB SSD then decided I needed more space. I gave the 500 GB to my wife and bought the 1 TB for myself. It has exponentially sped up both our systems. It was EASY to install and with the software from Samsung I was able to migrate my old hard drive over fairly easily. This allowed me to keep all my old files and Windows 10 version WITHOUT having to reinstall anything. There are a couple really good videos on how to install the drive and the software on U-Tube (can't use actual name).

I installed this in my mid-2010 iMac 21.5" doubling the storage capacity in the computer (I was running out) and dramatically improving the speed! This is a real world usage bump in speed (opening applications, copying files, booting up, switching users, photo editing, etc.) where disk IO is the bottleneck. This won't speed up the processor and video card, for instance, so games won't run much faster for instance (levels may load faster though) as those are more dependent on processing power. The 2010 iMac 21.5 only has SATA II so I knew the speed would top out at 300MB/s while the drive itself is capable of almost double that. That is still 10 times faster than the drive I had before (a 7200 RPM hard drive that was getting a little over 30MB/s). I am definitely getting 300MB/s read/write speed so this is working awesome so far! The difference is pretty stunning as this is the biggest upgrade I think you can do on a fairly old computer (already had 8GB of RAM and you can't upgrade the processor due to the proprietary motherboard of the iMac). Honestly, my 5 (!) year old laptop is much faster (I mean noticeably) in real world usage now than a brand new maxed out Dell laptop I use at work with a conventional hard disk drive. SSD is worth every penny in my opinion!

Purchased two to replace a pair of 600GB spinning platter hard drives I had in RAID 1 configuration when one of them failed. No hassles with setup and file migration (with the right software to do it.) Working great for a week now: totally silent and super fast. I hardly know other programs are running becuase of the silence and responsiveness of these. The 850 PRO series might be a touch faster, but comes with such a higher price tag that the EVO series is the best deal. Previous experience with a RAIDed pair of 250GB 850 EVO drives in another computer proved these 1TB models would pass muster in my personal workstation. I don't often buy my computer hardware from Best Buy, but BB had beaten Newegg's price by $33 each. Combined with taxes and rewards points, I'll realize about $85 in savings over competitor. That's huge!

I needed a little more performance for my aging desktop which originally came with Windows Vista. Even though this SSD can perform faster than the SATA interface in my computer at least now the hard drive is no longer the bottle neck. The Samsung transfer software worked flawlessly to transfer from my old hard drive. After the swap the only difference I had was an incredible speed boost! definitely worth the upgrade.

This internal drive met my 3 requirements: more space, fast, and silent.

Solid State Drives are a must have upgrade. Since installing it in my MacBook Pro, the boot up is significantly faster than before. My music DAW works so much more efficient than it did prior to the upgrade. I recommend the Samsung SSD for anyoine to update their notebook or cpu. You may think it's expensive but it is well worth the cost.

This drive is spacious and very, very quick. Setup is a breeze, you can update an old computer to breathe new life into it as I did with an almost 10 year old Mac or you can use it as a very quick external. Buy it, you'll like it. I had to buy it twice as the first one was lost in transit but hey, it's just that good.
