I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of installation. A Samsung utility cloned my current laptop drive over to this new SSD while I was at work. When I came home that morning it was just a matter of swapping out the drives. The HP Envy laptop had a flexible mount that I had to remove from the old drive and attach to the new drive. I had a little bit of work cramming this mount back into the laptop with the new SSD but the case went back together with no bulges and the drive appeared to be secure in it's place. Turning on the laptop I noticed how much more quickly it booted up. It is now an exciting feeling each time I boot knowing how much quicker I will be and running. Program updates also seem to be so much faster than before. Now, any old platter drive just feels ancient to me to have to deal with. This is the way to go. Price? I have to relate to you that back in the '80's I paid $400 for a 20gb Seagate drive, my first hard drive purchase. So, the $350 plus tax I recently paid (and now I'm finding this same drive for lots cheaper) is worth every penny. Why wait, just do it!

Dirve is easy to install and very fast and was easy to transfer all the files over . Great internal replacement with crazy storage space, a must have for any laptop that wants more storage with out the need for a external unit to keep plugging and unplugging. This works perfect with my 2012 MacBook Pro.

Bought a new ASUS Republic of Gaming computer and wanted to upgrade it...evidently it came with all the bells and whistles but this drive was recommended. It is about the only one that doesn't use up a bunch of your storage, which is what I wanted. Easy install by the Geek Squad and boy does it make my computer start up quickly. Think is was a good choice.

So far so good. No issues with this drive at all. My machine has never been faster. Took my complete boot up time from about 6-7 minutes to about 1.5 minutes. Programs start faster and the whole system is more responsive. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

There are some insider reasons to buy an SSD off the shelf rather than online - but we won't go into them here. I've been using the Samsung drives lately and installed about a dozen or so with some pretty strong results. If you are looking for a relatively easy way to squeeze some speed out of your aging laptop (or desk tower I suppose) SSDs are an excellent strategy. They can improve battery life, reduce boot and flop times significantly and possibly increase (reduce MTBF) reliability. And even though it may be a negligible upside, they are also much lighter than a standard HD.

This drive is a great update for improving the speed and storage capacity for you laptop.

What can I say. Fast, reliable, worth every penny. Handles data transfers like a dream.

I had Plextor M5 series before. After a few years it started to freeze from time to time. I heard Samsung lasts longer and has a 5yr warranty. So far it's only been a couple of weeks but it's working great. Let's see how it goes after 4yrs or so. But at 1TB it's a great price at the moment. I personally think you don't need the Pro model. I think this is more than enough.

This is an upgrade for my 120GB Evo that ran out of space. I was hesitant bec it had my OS, but the included data migration software made it a snap to replace. Also it has a samsung magician that monitors the health of your samsung SSD after installation. I notice that boot up time is much faster now too, even compared to my old 120gb SSD Evo that this one replaced.

This was the first SSD I've purchased/used and I've been impressed with its performance. A month ago the upgrade to High Sierra on my new-to-me late 2011 MacBook Pro killed the 750GB HDD and I decided to spend a little more on a SSD 1TB. I was amazed at how much faster the MBP booted. I thought it was taking longer than expected to boot but... wow! The next upgrade was from 4GB memory to 16GB and now a restart takes about 20 seconds from hitting restart to entering my password. I've been so impressed with this SSD that I've since purchased this same drive in a 500GB for an older MBP (mid/late 2007). While the increase in performance hasn't been nearly as dramatic as with the 2011 MBP, it has definitely improved overall speed. Enough that I am happy I made the investment to revive the old MBP.

I purchased this along with my new Lenovo Y700 Laptop from Best Buy a month ago. The install was easy with the transfer software that comes in the package. You will need to purchase a SATA/USB cable to transfer your old drive into your new drive. The tranfer was seamless and took 11 minutes to tranfer 850 mb. When I put the new drive in and booted it up, it only took 8 seconds to operate the Laptop. That's impressive! !!! I read all the reviews on this before buying this SSD. Although its more expensive than the other models out there, all I can say it's worth it.

If you have a compatible machine (and most are), this is a pretty awesome upgrade from a spinning HD. Screaming fast. I've used this drive in a USB3 enclosure to boot an iMac with USB3 ports and the machine is about twice as fast as using the internal spinning HD. Yes; an excellent upgrade without even having to risk damaging the iMac by opening it.

Large capacity and quick speeds all at a reasonable price point

Its quiet and fast. My MacBook Pro boots in seconds now, not minutes.
