Definitely fast! I bought it for some photo back-ups and instead decided to put in my ps4. I love it. It was on sale, plus I had a gift card. I've had my eye on this 1TB ssd for a while. I'm glad the prices are starting to slowly come down on the different ssd capacities. What can I say? It's a great fast and high quality Samsung 1TB ssd. That speaks for itself.

Great for any computer (Mac or Win) that currently has a mechanical hard drive in it, but which does not have the M.2 slot. Cloning your existing hard drive to this Samsung SSD makes a huge difference and may add years of life to your current computer (best if you computer has SATA III / 6Gbps of course) ;)

When the Crucial SSD Iinstalled in iMac gave failed, I replaced it with this Samsung 850 EVO. The EVO is significantly faster than 4-year old Crucial it replaced (which is not a surprise) and has a better warranty. I am well satisfied and rcommend the EVO.

I purchased this to speed up a computer build from 7 years ago. Although my MB only supports SATA II, this SSD was compatible and reduced my previous boot times from over 2 minutes to about 30 seconds. Migration was simple. Windows experience went from 6.9 to 7.9 in Windows 7. Works well with host and 3 VM's and numerous apps open simultaneously with room to spare.

Solid as a rock, flawless performance - I bought this one to pair with another 850 EVO in a RAID 1 array so my system's storage will be all SSD (M.2 boot drive). No, they aren't quite as fast as the 850 PRO, but the slight difference in performance more than offsets the large difference in price!

Got this to replace a HDD on my Lenovo laptop. Easy to install. Since I load a fresh copy of OS, I don't have to worry about cloning my old drive or file transfer. Much FASTER. I might have waited a little longer for price to come down, but pricing seems to be fairly stable over the last year or so.

Upgrading the 2011 Mac Book Pro was quick and easy. Drive does have to be reformatted so don't be surprised when the warning comes up saying disc cannot be read. Terrific drive fast and spacious (1TB).

SSD is definitely the way to go, bought another (now on 3 of these) and buy a USB 3.0 enclosure and pop this puppy in. Makes for super fast backups and can work off of it if I wanted to with little to no lag when working on videos. This thing is so good, can't even imagine what more they can upgrade on this.

It's small, compact, and stores up to 1TB. The computer boots faster and access time is near instantaneous. No sound from computer during its use like a noisy slow HD. I'm buying more.

When I got this thing it was on sale for 339.00, but the price has really gone up for some reason. Probably best to shop around. I've used it on two different game rigs now, and it's lightning fast, and stays nice and cool. Had it for over a year now, and its running like a champ.

Samsung 1TB SSD Drive

Samsung 1TB 850 Evo SSD Drive was on sale, $339.99..On the web with Best buy it was 337.99 so they priced matched it for me. Drive is easy to install and the provided software for cloning is straight forward and worked without issue.. The drive does not come with a USB to SATA cable so if you need one you'll have to buy that separately. The drive is fast and works as it should. I would highly recommend this SSD to anyone. Also if you buy two and put them in raid zero it will almost double your SSD speeds. Raid zero is referred to as striping and there is no redundancy, which mean if 1 drive fails you loose all your data.

This isn't my first SSD so the speed difference was minimal but compared to a hard drive it is lightning fast. I upgraded from a 500 gb to 1 tb for the space. Starting Windows 10 takes about 15 seconds! Starting Office 2010 take 1-2 seconds. It comes with software that allows you to clone an existing drive but it needs a USB connector and power supply for this to happen (not supplied). This should be pointed out on the web site and packaging. After the cloning process that takes several hours, swap drives and you are back up exactly as before the clone (except in my case much more space and in the case of a hard drive swap much faster for everything!).

I have a very expensive latpop with a normal HD. I always felt my laptop ran slow for what I paid for the unit. After I installed this new SD HD I was blown away on the performance I now get out of my laptop. After almost 2 years, I feel I now own a brand new computer.

I upgraded my old HDD on my Dell Inspiron to the Samsung Evo 1 TB SSD. Their data transfer software did not seem to work, so I used my Acronis software and the data migration went flawlessly. The new SSD is much much faster and my pc boots up in Windows 7 in no time.

Best 2.5" 1TB SSD for the Money

The 850 EVO 1TB is the best 2.5" SSD for the price. They test faster than the lower capacity drives. I have one in my Dell XPS 8920 and a second one that I use to make a just-in-case backup image. You can use the Samsung Magician software for managing the drive.

I've been using these class of hard drives for the past few years and I haven't had one fail yet. Plus the price of these drives have come down over the years, and this is the best investment you can make to upgrade and speed up your computer (desktop or laptop).

I upgraded my old 2010 MacBook Pro, the performance got a huge boost. It's almost like a brand-new computer with instantaneous response in applications.
This Samsung 850 EVO 1TB SSD is the best in-class with best price-performance ratio. I highly recommend this product.

I used this SSD to clone the hard drive in an AIO. What takes 6-8 hours with a normal HDD takes just 75 minutes with this SSD. You can attach it with the appropriate external USB cable (just like any drive). I create a complete image using the EASEUS software (which has a free version, although the premier version does cost). Now I have a complete image for all applications as well as data. If I have a HDD crash I can just insert this drive in the PC and I'm good to go. I clone it about once a month. You may have other uses for this SSD, but I can certainly attest to its quality and speed.
