as long as it uses a 2.5" sata drive it will fit in fine. Searching online Dell offered this laptop with an SSD option so it likely uses the same connector. You could always just open up your laptop or look online for instructions on how to do it. View the instruction video and you will see whether it's a 2.5" Sata connector.

Yes, this drive has the correct size/form factor to go in the Dell E6400 series laptops. I have used several of these in the Latitude line from Dell.

If you can open it and have access to the drive you can use this ssd no problem!

more than likely the hard drive would work but depending on the operating system the wizard software may not function.
