QuestionHow do you install it? Can I simply put it in and then use my Toshiba Recovery Media?Is it easy to install? Can I just put it in and then put in my Toshiba recovery media onto it or is it more complicated?

- Answer You will need a sata to usb adapter (Best Buy sells them in store) and the drive comes with a cd with software that copies your existing hard disk to the samsung ssd. If you aren't comfortable doing that the Geek Squad can do it for you.

- Answer Yes, this SSD will fit in that model MacBook. It will not be TRIM-enabled unless you use 3rd party software (only Mac factory drives are TRIM-enabled), but do NOT enable TRIM. TRIM has been proven completed unnecessary and won't add any performance improvement.

- Answer It should work fine. As long as it has a SATA connection. I've replaced many mechanical HDD's on macbooks with SSD's. it's the easiest thing to do for a performance boost. On a mac though you might have TRIM issues. I've purchased third party TRIM applications in the past to keep the drive at optimum performance. I have not reviewed TRIM compatibility lately with the latest version of the OSX. I remember about a year ago having to tweak my preferences and security to get the trim app working.I'm about to purchase this same drive for my daughters 2011 macbook pro. I'm sure it will be fine.

- Answer as long as it uses a 2.5" sata drive it will fit in fine. Searching online Dell offered this laptop with an SSD option so it likely uses the same connector. You could always just open up your laptop or look online for instructions on how to do it. View the instruction video and you will see whether it's a 2.5" Sata connector.

- Answer While it is possible, it's not recommended. You will wind up filling your new SSD up with a bunch of unnecessary stuff. Your best bet for a desktop is to do a clean install of the OS on the SSD and use your 1TB HDD as your added storage space. Of course, apps will have to be reinstalled, but at least your data will still be intact.

- Answer This drive will work great for you. You can either do an image copy from drive to the another or a clean install on the new drive. I personally prefer the clean install.

- Answer You'll need to partition your disk. After booting from the recovery media, there should be a "tools" menu where you can open "Disk Utility". Once there, you'll be able to partition your disk as GUID HFS+. After that, you'll be able to install the OS.

- Answer As long as you have a additional 2.5” drive bay it should work without any problem. What I do is replace the hd drive with the SSD and put the HD drive in the secondary bay, then reinstall my OS on the SSD and programs on the HD drive.

- Answer I'm not sure about the drive cavity in your laptop but I will assume it is a standard 2.5" drive bay in which case this will mount directly. Google CloneZilla. Free and easy drive transfer program assuming your new drive is bigger than your old drive. I would recommend a ThermalTake BlacX Duet for drive cloning. Download / install CloneZilla to a USB flash drive, make the install bootable (read online), put your old drive and the new drive in the Duet, connect the duet via USB (USB 3 preferably), boot any computer from the CloneZilla flash drive, from there pretty much follow the on screen prompts.

- Answer If you plan to use it as an external drive. I have a Dell 13" 7000 series and there is no way to install a 2nd drive internally. You need a SATA to USB adapter and you're all set.

- Answer You can use it for desktops, but you might need a caddy to keep it secure in the drive bay. I recommend formatting it first before installing it in a new computer.

- Answer You can always go ahead and order it online and set a pickup to the Best Buy in Las Vegas which is closest to you. If you wait to purchase it once you get there you may not be guaranteed that you'll receive it.
