A:Answer Samsung is the most popular and considered the "best" brand since they manufacture the complete drive. They make the V-NAND flash, controllers, PCB, etc. many vendors like PNY will buy NAND flash from other companies like Samsung, Micron, Hynix, etc. and integrate it with another 3rd party controller like ones made by Marvel, Sandforce and just throw it together. Often times, you'll get a good quality product, but sometimes, depending on the NAND used, you may experience poor performance, or worse yet, reliability issues. I for one have nothing but great experience with Samsung, Crucial (Micron), and Intel drives. When i comes to installing an upgraded SSD drive in my new pain to open laptop of course I used Samsung even though I know it will be just as fast or reliable as many other drives out there for average home use.
Another plus to Samsung's 850 Evo series, their P/E cycles are 2000+, the NAND cells can be written and erased over 2000 times each before failing. So yeah, that's pretty robust.
