• Yes, this SSD will fit in that model MacBook. It will not be TRIM-enabled unless you use 3rd party software (only Mac factory drives are TRIM-enabled), but do NOT enable TRIM. TRIM has been proven completed unnecessary and won't add any performance improvement.

• Your mac Operating system usually doesn't make a difference. The drive fits in your computer, but if you aren't comfortable copying your existing HDD then just have the Geek Squad do it.
