Fortunately I am using a new ASUS board with all 12 channels SATA 3, if you have a older board with only SATA 2 connectors you are not getting the 6gb/s band width. Some boards come with a combination of SATA 2 and 3 they will be different color plugs, and usually be near the top of the board, dark blue I think. If you only have SATA 2 connectors, don't waste money on SSD drives, use faster access time drives and set them for a RAID 0 . noisier but fast.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have 4 ssd drives attached to my ASUS motherboard. Everything is fast.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm not sure what you mean by base adapted for SSD, but the SSD can connect to any standard SATA connector, and if you have multiple SATA connectors, you can connect multiple SSDs, each connected to one SATA connector. If you mean the mounting kit that fits SSDs to HDD bay, then yes, you need the proper mounting brackets and enough space in the bay. You can get dual SSD mounting kit if you want to save money and space rather than buying two mounting kits.
