I replaced my Toshiba HDD to this SSD and noticed immediate results, my laptop now turns on or off in about 5 seconds, the read and write speeds are immensely faster, and my overall laptop performance has improved greatly. This product is a steal because the new eMMC type storage is taking over and this is starting to phase out.

I've purchased many 860 EVO SSDs over the past few years of building and upgrading desktops. All different sizes including some for boot drives some for storage some for other operating systems(Windows,Mac,Linux,Android), and some for games. This 1tb in particular is a pretty good deal for its price and performance especially since it has gotten cheaper than previous years. Just pushing a couple of extra dollars for the 1tb will be worth your time and money over the 500gb model. Samsung includes good software tools that can be used with their storage devices as well as one of the better warranties (5 years). Thinking the Samsung SSD premium price over other brands? Yes I'm telling you it is.

I replaced my 1TB Hard Drive with the Samsung 860 EVO 1 TB Solid State Drive on my Toshiba Satellite S55-B5280 Laptop. The laptop had many miles on it but the Hard Drive was working OK. The SSD cloned perfectly from the old HDD. Now when I boot up Windows 10 The laptop is ready for use in seconds rather than 5 minutes it was taking wit the HDD. I also notice that the cooling fan does not have to come on very much compared to when I had the HDD installed. I think I have just increased the life and productive use of my old laptop.

If you already filled up your speedy NVME slots with Samsung 970 Plus or 980 Pro (or both) NVME drives and you want to bump the storage up while keeping very fast speeds, then this drive is a great paor with those previously mentioned NVMEs. I have had no issues with any of the Samsung drives & Samsung software support for setting up your drives is super simple. Grab one of these drives for a boost in storage while keeping your read/write nice and fast!

It's a subtle upgrade for an old laptop with a hard disk. Installation was straight forward. The difference in speed is noticeable.

So far its been a great addon to my old XPS 8700. I have upgraded just about everything I could for the past few years power supply, graphics card,memory. Windows 10 loads so much faster now and I use it for all my programs and havent had any issues because I dont have a lot of demanding programs anyway and using the old hard drive for storage.

This SSD turned my 2011 Early MacBook Pro onto a slapped demon. My laptop functions like new, especially after also doubling my RAM fro 4 to 8 gb.

This SSD drive was really easy to put into the in closure that I bought... It’s definitely useful to store my PS4 games on.

The drive is great. The software for transferring the data from the old SSD to the new one not so much. I tried to migrate the data 3 or 4 times using the Samsung software. It always failed after completing 99% of the transfer. I gave up after 4 hours of repeated crashes. The final one corrupted the old drive's boot record, so it wouldn't boot. So I guess I was committed to the upgrade? Always have a viable backup before you change a drive... Famous last words to live by. The only way I could get it to work, was from a backup and restore from the old drive and then to manipulate the partition size to utilized the 1TB size.

Upgrading to SSD (Solid State Drive) will speed up your computer tremendously. Even a 5-year old computer will boot and respond as quickly as the new and expensive laptops.

I had the Samsung - 860 EVO 1TB Internal SATA Solid State Drive for Laptops and a Insigna bracket for the SSD, $9.99, installed in my Dell 8700 XPS in place of the Dell (C:) drive and now use the older (C:) for back ups. The Samsung SSD is really fast on start-ups, reboots and shut downs along with downloading, Internet Security scanning. I have every intention of adding on to my ASUS G752vl gaming laptop. Think big, use a gigabyte drive at least. I really appreciate how the solid state drive handles and drives.

Bought this to replace my dead 850 Pro 512GB. Just as fast as the 850 Pro. Works great. I use it now to store my steam games in conjunction with a 980 Pro 1TB as my main OS SSD. A little strange trying to register the warranty with Samsung they wouldn't approve my claim. Calling in all you get is re-directed, I ended up giving up.

Recently I built a gaming pc on my own for the first time and I threw this ssd for my games. My experience had been better than expected with games stability and speed of loading up. Prices on ssd are now affordable so there’s no reason to waste money on something else.

Samsung EVO SSDs are models I have used the longest. Very one has performed fantastic making my Old Macs run up to par with current models. The EVOs have had 5 year warranties and some of mine are 7 years old and still running fine. Can't say that for the HDDs they replaced.

I make graphic tumblers therefor I have tons of vector art graphics. They take up a lot of memory and this is perfect for what I needed.

Well they can't be all that bad if 7 out of the 9 Samsung 1 TB hard drives I use are 860's and the other 2 are 870's. I use these as external backups for GTA V modifying along with full game file saves.

Using Carbon Copy and this SSD was a flawless migration and perfect upgrade for my (Late 2014) Mac Mini.

Very fast and reliable,transfers speeds are super fast and the design and looks overall is amazing ,I build a new computer and I didn’t even hide the SSD in the back cover of the chassis

It may not be as fast as an m2 but ease of use and quality is fantastic I have two in my new pc Gaming rig playing AC Valhalla
