I have a 2012 Macbook Pro and it was terribly slow. Before installing the new hard drive it took my Mac at least 5 to 7 minutes to just load up to put my password in. Once I installed the Samsung Evo 860, pure satisfaction. It practically loads up almost instantly. Now I have a faster laptop with more storage, a win win if you ask me.

I bought this to replace a 8 year old 650 Gb hard drive in my HP computer. I figured it was time before that gave up and was thinking about getting a hybrid hard drive to help speed things up a little. I can't speak of speed as I use it as a storage disk with another Samsung SSD drive as the bootup/program storage drive and I am running a SATA 2 buss so not the fastest. But it installed great, my computer is totally silent and it seems to be working fine. I choose this because the price was very good and I've heard that Samsung drives tend to be one of the faster SSDs out there. My plans are to eventually build another computer and take this along. My other Samsung drive is now about 2 1/2 years old and it is working great so assuming I get the same thing with this I'm happy. Just a FYI for those people looking to replace their drives - you can clone the info on the drive to this drive using the USB ports, a USB adapter and cloning software, I did not use any software from Samsung but what I used worked great.

Love it! Sped up my computer 3x compared to my old 7200rpm drive. Boots in less than 15 seconds when my last drive took over 2 minutes. No issues at all. Easy to install, very reliable, fast, extremely pleased!

Samsung is one of the best manufacturers of ssds. This one is no exception and works great. It is fast, relatively small for easy placement, and is a decent price point for its capacity. This is an excellent choice for those looking to decrease time on productivity tasks like video editing.

This Samsung 860EVO SSD drive is top of the line in my opinion. These drives are super-fast and are a must have for anyone wanting to significantly improve their computer performance. The difference in performance will be noticed immediately upon booting the computer. I installed one of these drives in my desktop and laptop, and both will boot up in 20 seconds or less. One other factor to consider for buying with this fantastic SSD drive is the free software that Samsung makes for its drive. Samsung provides a free download of Samsung Magician Software and Date Migration software. Most other brands do not provide any free software. After experiencing the mind-blowing speed of this drive and the performance gain on my pc, I could never go back to the old HDD drives.

Very easy to install and use. Fast and spacious drive. Will definitely buy again. I purchased for $109 and it was an excellent should. M.2 is a little faster, but these are great if you don't have the open M.2 slots.

Holy SMOKES this SSD is fast! It is not plug-n-play and you do have to download a free disc cloning program such as Macrium Reflect to clone the drive you are replacing before you can maximize the potential of this SSD. I went from a five minute total boot time in my HP Omen 870-224 with the upgraded 16GB of RAM to a 50 second total boot time with this SSD!!! Everything is almost instantaneously loaded once you open the programs. MW3 loads very quickly and Photoshop runs optimally. Very happy with my purchase!!! Oh it does not come with a SATA cable, you will need to pick one up if you do not have an extra in your CPU case.

I edit videos and photos and I needed a fast memory and large enough too. This Samsung does all that, it is reliable and it performs great. With 6 Gb per second 1 TB of space is plenty It is slim that it does not need much physical space but gives you plenty back. It is fast, it was also fast to transfer all my information from my old drive to this one and reliable.

This SSD is great, it is fast, reliable, and has a good warranty. I upgraded to this from a hard drive so I am more than pleased but this also feels faster than the NVME SSD in my laptop. It is a great product to buy now because the value you get is very good for your money. When buying SSDs I always like to go with Samsung. It also comes with great software to migrate your whole drive to the new one. It worked great and I had no errors. One thing that is not easy to do is to enable drive encryption, it seems like it is more difficult than it is worth doing. Overall I am happy with this product.

I upgraded the spinning hard drive in my mid 2012 MacBook Pro because it was running slow and I got tired of looking at the spinning beach ball. Wow, what a difference. My boot time was cut by more than 2/3 and I rarely see the spinning beach ball any more. I do not miss it. The transfer was easy using SuperDuper software ( a free download). The instructions were clear and simple. Less than 5 minutes to get the data transfer started. I am an A+ certified Computer tech so I replaced the drive myself. MacBooks of this era are so easy to work on. Very rewarding experience and a great drive.

This was my first SSD purchase for additional storage in my desktop. The previous SSD I had was roughly 1/4th the size of this one and with researching the best SSD for value and performance I came across the 860 EVO. I now have purchased 3 of these SSD drives for myself and 1 for my sister as I highly recommend them. You will definitely notice a speed difference if you are transferring from an older style HDD to an SSD with boot times and application loads. I currently have 1 installed in my desktop, 1 in my laptop and 1 in my daughter's laptop and couldn't be any happier.

I previously had a single terabyte 7200 rpm western digital mechanical drive which was sufficient. Until I paired this ssd with the Samsung EVO nvme pci ssd and let's just say sufficient has a new standard. I'm currently using 5his as my storage drive rand the copy and write speeds are world's apart from my old drive. Super easy to install and setup. Didn't swe it at first. Went into hard drive management, there it was unallocated. Formatted, assigned a drive letter, and like a phoenix my laptop sprung back to life reborn and much much faster than before.

I own several of these throughout all of my home PCs. This is my go to model for performance and security in an ssd. It comes with software to optimize performance or reliability peaks and is a speedy drive. Well worth the money over other name brands. Invest wisely when it comes to your personal data. I can’t tell you how many drives I’ve had fail on me mid game or mid download or even on boot. Never had any issue with these although they should go down in price now that M2s are a similar price.

Well we all know that I3 proc's are sluggish and slow to begin with. Had a customer that had there old mechanical drive fail so I purchased this item for $150. Installation was easy but don't expect to use a rail kit for it. Easy light enough to use a zip tie or Velcro to secure the little guy. Needless to say installed Windows 10 in a amazing speed for an I3 within under 20 minutes. Great little drive speedy cost effective and resurrected an I3 machine that I was sure was deemed to hit the scrap pile. What a amazing difference in performance from the original hardware.

I've never had problems with any Samsung SSDs (have purchased 3 previously). This one is fast and reliable. Easy to install, put a new install of Win10 on this SSD. This Samsung SSD replaced a WD Green SSD that had many bad sectors and caused Win10 to have many BSOD. Not a single issue with this SSD so far. I know I can count on this Samsung SSD for my new desktop, based on my previous experience. It may cost a little more, but I think that it's definitely worth it.

I used this to replace my Mac Mini Hybrid drive and it works as advertised. Speeds are faster when loading and may get hot at times depending on the apps you run so make sure your computer is properly ventilated. Apps load faster and booting is also faster. I used it to replace the 240 GBytes SSD in a 2012 Mac Mini in a hybrid configuration. I now have a 1 Tbyte SSD and I retained the 1 Tbyte HDD. I now have faster bootups and app loading as well as lotsa of disk space.

From dramatically reduced load times to that oh so nice 1TB of space, the 860 EVO has me very pleased with the purchase. It's incredibly nice to pop into a game, look at my phone and, (most of the time) be in the process of spawning rather than in a loading screen. This is easily worth the money. If you're looking for an SSD for your first, I definitely recommend this one. (Pro tip, if you aren't using your disk drive, you can just use the SATA cables from that if you don't have a spare laying around.)

So mu grandpa was kind enough to buy me this SSD for my ps4. My OG ps4 had a 500GB 5400rpm drive that was slow and always full. This SSD cut the loading times on anything on the ps4, tremendously. Games load faster and textures load faster/more naturally. Games like GTA 5 made a big difference in almost 40 seconds faster than the stock hard drive! Would recommend it to anyone trying to get the most out of their PS4!

I have had one of these in my system for several years and it has worked flawlessly. The best part about these drives is you can download the Samsung management software and data migration software. The management software checks the drive for updates and performance issues and with the data migration software you can clone your existing hard drive and the just swap out the old for the new SSD and it is like you have a new computer (with the speed upgrade)
