Embedded with Samsung's cutting-edge thermal control algorithm, the 980 PRO manages heat on its own to deliver durable and reliable performance, while minimizing performance fluctuations during extended usage. The 980 PRO with Heatsink uses Samsung's own nickel-coated high-end controller to deliver effective thermal control of the NAND chip. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's compatible with your laptop, I always recommend placing a thermal pad on it. The extra cooling won't hurt. Just make sure it fits in the clearance between the m.2 SSD to the laptop case so shuts properly. Amazon has some good m.2 kits that can be found for 10 dollars. I use this exact drive in my computers and it's a drive that I highly recommend on using. Good luck and happy gaming! :D
