Pros: Simple installation, excellent and stable speeds for gaming and professional tasks. Simplistic Samsung Magician software to monitor your drive's health and keep its firmware up to date with the click of your mouse. If you aren't tech savvy, such software is fantastic to keep this product up to date and operating at its peak! Cons: Price, you are getting what you pay for with these. Samsung has a good reputation, and it shows with their drives. Have not had a single Samsung drive fail me yet. I have two 1TB models and consistently build my customers systems with 970pro Evos which are an excellent alternative to this drive if your wallet winces at the price for the 980pros. Overall: Highly recommended for those looking for quality, simplicity and stability.

I installed this on my gaming laptop alienware x17r1 RTX 3080ti I needed more space. This was a quick and easy installation. The difference was noticeable immediately, boot time was phenomenal. The responsiveness of loading games was so much faster than my old ssd. I will definitely buy Samsung from now.

This SSD is 100% compatible with my Acer Predator Helios 300. It is very fast. The actual speed is as close as to what has been advertised. I saved all my high-graphics games in it, so far I have not seen any issues when running those games. I bought it at $89.99 which is a bonus. I have no doubt that this SSD is going to last since it's from Samsung, a trusted brand. I highly recommend it.

I've always been quite happy with 980 PROs. They're the standard NVME I go to for my builds, and 1TB is the standard size. For my latest PC I was trying to convert to all-NVME (for the most part) as the mobo supported three internally plus a PCIE hypercard (can mount 2). All Gen-4. My last computer had a mix of gen-3 and 1 gen-4. I purchased a new 980 PRO here and put it in RAID with an older one, though updating firmware and other business was quite a bit more difficult than I thought. Perhaps not worth all the trouble of RAID, but that was what the mobo defaulted to, and that's how the backups and reinstalls of windows ended up. Plus I needed it, and IRST, for the hypercard I was determined to use. The 980s run very well by themselves. You can see a crystalmark run of the 980 by itself (non-RAID) in the black picture. Then a (non-OS) partition of the 980PRO-RAID in the white picture. Usually, updating firmware on Samsung drives is done through Magician, and it works most of the time. If you can't get it to work, though (RAIDing for example, or just other hardware hiccups) then you'll been to do it through a flash drive using SamsungBIOS. A bit more tedious. I had to physically re-mount the drives un-RAIDed to get the utility to recognize them. Or you can just not update the firmware... but Windows 11 is currently very much slower than Windows 10 and the firmware was supposed to ameloriate the NVME problems 11 is having by a bit.

Much needed extra storage for the PS5. Took all of 5 minutes to install. 6500k + read speeds.

This drive performs exceptionally. I recommend this NVMe for anyone looking into drive performance and stability. Samsung Magician is also easy to nagivate for any type of user. I’ve purchased Samsung drives for every PC in my household because I never had issues with them, just make sure your motherboard supports NVMe Gen4 to get full performance.

I am up to 6 of these now and none disappoint. This is one of the best available and consistently performs well. Boot times are fast, games load fast and they run cool with proper installation. I have these as boot drives in all of our newer PC's and performance is similar in all. You can't go wrong with a Samsung 980 PRO, especially when you find it on sale at Best Buy.

These Samsung SSD drives were a Tremendous improvement compared to the SSD drive that came with my computer, speeds are basically Double or more of what i had, I would Recommend the Samsung 980 Pro & 990 Pro.| I am using the 990 Pro as my main SSD Drive and using the 980 Pro as my secondary HD, When i can save up the money i am thinking of putting in a 3rd Samsung Pro for a Dedicated Back Up Storage so nothing else but my Computer's Back ups will write to it, I have the M.2 Slots might as well use them, 3 total PCIe 4.0x4 slots total.

I love that the prices of these drives are getting cheaper. Its hard to even consider a Solid State drive when these are sometimes the same price for 7x the speed. My latest Asrock z790 motherboard has five M.2 slots making these a match made in heaven.

My friend built a PC for me but it was slower than my old one. He said lets go to Best Buy. So he took me there and I purchased Samsung - 980 PRO 1TB Internal Gaming SSD PCIe Gen 4 x4 NVMe, and now this is the best computer I have ever owned. Thank you Best Buy!

The best in class. I use Samsung EVO line for all my SSD's in my laptops and desktops and video cameras. They install quickly and offer unparalleled performance. WD comes ver close with their Black line of SSD's, but I've used Samsung's SSD's for so long it's hard to change brands.

Drive is amazingly fast. I get swell boot times with my gen 4 m.2 slot. The drive is 2 times faster when it is compared to my Samsung 970 EVO when it comes to read and write speeds. - mind you that that the 970 drive is a bit older and has been used quite alot lol.

Just picked this up and its great, I was surprised when i ran a drive benchmark using samsungs magician software and the drive actually performed faster than advertised with 7164 MB Read and 5260 MB Write. Just about twice as fast as my 970 Evo.

Got it for my PS5. Amazing for the price and easy to install. Would recommend to anyone whos on a budget for an SSD

This Samsung - 980 PRO 1TB Internal Gaming SSD (up to 7000MB/s) was a great replacement for a hard drive in my HP Spectre laptop that failed. Plenty of room and it appears to be performing quite well over the previous 500GB original HD. Plus, Bestbuy had it on sale for a stellar price.

I love everything Samsung. My monitor is a 43" (4K) Samsung Odyssey Neo. My phone is a galaxy S23. Previous monitor was a G5 Odyssey & all my M.2 slots are filled with either the 980 or the 990 pro! If you depend on getting your work done fast on your PC, there's no other option. This is the only option.

This drive works great in PS5, very fast. I'm the PlayStation it actually has 1.01tb and after formatting you're left with an even 1tb extra storage. Very happy with it
